I am a 20 year old college student in Oregon. My major is linguistics,
and I hope to someday get my Master's of Library and Information
Science. Hmm... I live in a very hippie-inhabited town in a tiny
bedroom with my boyfriend. We would have a cat or guinea pig if our
apartment allowed it, but their rule is that you have to live with
them 2 years before you can have a pet (which is dumb if you ask me).
I am extremely liberal when it comes to politics, and cannot be swayed
when it comes to politic debates. That being said, I honestly don't
like to get into them. I pay attention to politics, but I definitely
don't care to talk about them much.
As for religion, I'm an Atheist Taoist Unitarian Universalist. This
means that I don't believe in any gods or higher powers/beings, nor do
I subscribe to the idea of an afterlife. I like to apply Taoist
philosophy to my life, things like going with the flow and everything
being neutral (no good or bad, black or white, etc.). But overall, I'm
a Unitarian Universalist. Unitarian Universalism is essentially a
religion based around finding your own truth, as well as accepting the
beliefs of everyone.
I like all kinds of music, really only disliking country and the
majority of Top 40 music (and not for lack of trying). I like a lot of
metal, emotive hardcore, punk, alternative, and indie stuff, but I
also like other stuff. Some of my favorite bands/singers: Modest
Mouse, Band of Horses, Pedro the Lion, She Wants Revenge, A Perfect
Circle, Tool, NIN, Explosions in the Sky, Gojire, The Black Dahlia
Murder, Eluveitie, Amon Amarth, Fiona Apple, Ingrid Michaelson, Ed
Sheeran, La Dispute, Touche Amore, Pianos Become the Teeth, and
probably others I forgot.
I also love reading. Probably my favorite authors are Chuck Palahniuk
(I have read all but maybe 2 or 3 of his books), David Sedaris, Kurt
Vonnegut, and George R.R. Martin. I also love the book "Ishmael" by
Daniel Quinn and thinks it should be read by everyone at least once. I
also love Edward Gorey. And H.P. Lovecraft. Sometimes I read a story
from the Necronomicon to my boyfriend before we go to sleep.
Movies I love: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Chicago, Big
Fish, Ruby Sparks, Amelie, Moulin Rouge, My Neighbor Totoro, Princess
Mononoke, Spirited Away, Ponyo, Howl's Moving Castle, Whisper of the
Heart, The Cat Returns, other Miyazaki movies that I forgot about,
Napolean Dynamite, Edward Scissorhands, Sweeney Todd, and many more,
I watch very few TV shows. I watch Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones,
Girls, The Big Bang Theory, and Glee. (Even though I hate it, I can't
stop watching. It's a curse.) I also watch a lot of cartoons late at
night, either whatever is on Adult Swim, or I totally love both
Regular Show and Adventure Time. I also am not ashamed to admit that I
am a pegasister, which is the female version of a brony. If you still
don't know what that means, it means I am an adult who enjoys watching
My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.
Hmm... what else? I listen to 3 podcasts. I listen to This American
Life every week, without fail, and I listen to Savage Love fairly
often. I listen to Radiolab when there's one that sounds interesting,
but that isn't always.
The way I look: I'm 5' 5", have shoulder-length hair that is naturally
brown, currently blond, and has been purple, red, and a lot of
different more natural colors. I have blue-green-grey eyes, and I have
a kinda round face. I have a ring in the right side of my noses, and
my ears are gauge but are currently only a 12 (the highest I want to
go is a 4). I can't define my style because I wear everything from
cute feminine dresses to jeans and men's flannels. I dress however I
Other hobbies I didn't include above: knitting, rollerblading,
singing, filling out silly facebook survey things (Visit my blog!
), and... I don't know what
If there's anything else you want to know, feel free to ask. There
isn't much I won't answer, so give it a shot and see what you can get
out of me. :P
