in junrinan, district 1 of rukongai. there, he lived and grew up with an old woman and momo hinamori, who is now the
lieutenent of 5th division. in his childhood days, toshirou's personality was the exact opposite of his current
personality. he was a bit of a brat that loved watermelons and got very easily pissed when momo calls him "shirou-chan"
(which she still does and he still gets pissed by that). in counter, he would call momo "bed-wetter momo". toshirou is
the youngest of the thirteen captains which gave him the nickname "kid genius". in the soul society arc, toshirou
correctly suspected foul play in the seiretei which turned out to be the plot set out from sosuke aizen, kaname tosen,
and gin ichimaru. sosuke aizen had formed a pact with the arrancars and the menos grande. when the truth of the plot
was finally revealed in the chamber of 46, toshirou made an atempt to kill aizen for decieving everyone and hurting his
childhood friend , momo. instead, he almost lost his own life, leaving aizen unscratched. his zanpakuto is hyourinmaru,
ice ring, which on its intial release, creates an ice and water dragon capable of freezing anything it touches,
instanly. hyourinmaru releases on the command "set upon the frosted heavens". his lieutenent is rangiku
matsumoto.
