this is my testimony of what happened to me
In the late afternoon of Friday 8th December 2006, when my parents
left the farm to visit friends in Adelaide, I decided to go for a ride
on my motorbike, which was not a good idea because it wasn’t
registered, and I didn’t generally take it out when no-one else was
I left our property and travelled on Tappanappa Road, which was a
lightly trafficked road. My next recollection was approximately a
week later, when I was lying in a hospital bed in the Flinders Medical
Centre, feeling very groggy.
I still can’t remember having the accident, but my parents, police
and rescuers have pieced together the sequence of events.
Apparently, I hit a tree just off the road at the entrance to Deep
Creek National Park Headquarters. My bike went into the scrub and was
hidden under a yakka bush, and the helmet was on the road, while I
must have walked about 500 metres across 2 bridges and then collapsed
on the side of the road.
Meanwhile a couple holidaying in the national park were travelling
along that road to see a doctor in Victor Harbor. They saw my helmet
and little further on the wife saw my red, bloodied hand waving, as I
had fallen backwards on the bank off the road.
The wife said to her husband, ‘What was that?’ They turned their
car back to check, found me, and rendered first aid. They weren’t
able to use their mobile phone or UHF radio to contact an ambulance,
so the wife stayed with me while her husband went for help, eventually
getting to a phone at a nearby plant nursery.
An ambulance crew came from Victor Harbor and immediately put me into
a coma, and called a rescue helicopter that took me to Flinders
Medical Centre. My parents arrived at the hospital just as I was
wheeled through to Intensive Care, displaying two very black eyes and
adorned with numerous tubes. They diagnosed extensive head injuries,
a crushed left cheek, fractured skull and damaged right cheekbone.
Pastor Lorraine was contacted and she prayed in the Name of Jesus for
my complete Healing.
I had surgery on my left cheek some days later, but it took me about a
week to recover from the anaesthetic.
I discharged myself from hospital on Christmas Day (25th December),
even though the doctors wanted me to go to a rehabilitation centre,
because they were fearful that I’d have seizures due to the head
injuries. When my parents collected me from the hospital, a nurse
asked my father, ‘How long are you taking him for? Just for the
Dad replied, ‘No, forever!’
The world tried to pressure me into having appointments with eye
specialists and rehabilitation sessions, but we put our Faith and
Trust in our Lord Jesus Christ, and I just Praise Him for His
Protection over me when I was staggering along the roadside, the way
He organised for me to be found and rescued, and how He led Pastor
Lorraine to specifically pray about my injuries, and I have not had
any seizures at all!
God totally Healed me! Isn’t He Great!!
