I am fifteen years old and I have brown hair and brown eyes. I have
two dogs, Baily and Juji. I like to play bluegrass fiddle. It's a lot
of fun. I'm single, and lovin it! I like to read and write, and I like
to draw a lot too. I'm hoping to make a lot of friends on Kupika from
a lot of different countries, and to practice my German. I'm getting
a little better at it, and I can speak it pretty well, but I still
would like a little practice. I meet up with my friends from Germany
a lot, and they usually speak English for me. It makes me feel a
little stupid sometimes, so I'd like to be able to speak to them in
German. As I said before, I like to write and draw, and I'm hoping
for some of my art to get looked at and maybe become famous. I have
it online, but it seems like it hardly gets looked at at all. Please
ask me if you'd like to see it! I'd love to share it with anyone I
can. I like to meet new people and make friends, but I'm a bit of an
introvert, so it might take me a while to warm up to you and start
being myself. I have juvenile diabetes, and I've had it for six years
now. I can live with it, but I wish I didn't have to. It's hard, too.
Because I'm Catholic, lots of things mixing church with diabetes have
been stressing me out. A few examples are stem cell research and
Amendment 2 in the Missouri government. The amendment passed, which
was great for me, but I felt as though I was a sinner every time I
stepped through the church doors. So now, I'm a confirmed Catholic,
but I haven't gone to church since the confirmation. I read a book
that was very good for me called Cheating Destiny. It's by James S.
Hirsch, and it's about diabetes. It's a very difficult read with a
lot of complicated words, and it can be a bit sad, but then, that's
diabetes in a nutshell, isn't it? Who's with me wishing for a cure?
I'd like to meet some people with diabetes from different places (I'm
from Missouri) to help me understand what it's like from all different
perspectives. Six years is a long time, but I still feel new at this
compared to others. I like to play tennis, and I'm taking tennis
lessons with my friend, Grace, this year. I'm hoping to join the high
school team. I think that would be a lot of fun. I'm a freshman in
high school. My favorite TV show would definitely have to be Scrubs.
Scrubs is funny, sad, dramatic, surreal and realistic at the same
time. I love all the characters, and I love the plot line (or lack of
one). It's so easy to miss an episode and just pick back up on it days
later. I don't have to be worried that I won't know what's going on.
My favorite movie is Finding Nemo. I love that little kids can enjoy
it for all it's worth, but then, the more you watch it, the more you
pick up on it. It's one of those movies where you can tell how many
times someone's seen it by the amount they can quote out of it. Like
Monty Python! I hope to make a lot of new friends here on Kupika, so
talk to me if you'd like! I'm looking forward to it :D
