CHAPTER 1


"But Mom! Do I really have to get a job? I was planning on hanging with the girls all summer. They don't have to get
jobs!!!"

"Now Jennifer. We discussed this. We made an agreement that in 2 years when you are heading to college, we would pay
for all of the expenses. IF you got a job and started to learn some responsibility. We just want you prepared. The
adult life can be very hard."

"Okay mom. I am sure I can find something. I will look Monday morning. That gives me 2 days to hang out with my
friends.

I went to my room before my mom could say anything else. We hardly ever argued so this was pretty rare and I didn't
want her to get too angry with me. After all, my parents were paying for my college education. I pretty much got
everything I wanted. We lived in a HUGE house in the rich part of town. We have a built in pool AND a pool house. I had
all the clothes, books, CD's and electronics I wanted. I didn't have any brothers or sisters and my parents both had
excellent jobs. My mother is a doctor and my father is a lawyer. That is why they pushed so much for me to get into
college. 

It was late so I threw on my tank top and shorts and walked into my master bathroom to brush my teeth.  I wasn't
looking forward to tomorrow. I had to tell Liz and Camille about my new job. I just knew they were going to freak!
