Deadwood Hollow isn’t full of small talking creatures that teach children lessons of morality and have incredible adventures, it is a dark and terrifying place made home to all the various scratchy and bitey creatures that were never cleared in the purge. Only the brave and reckless humans venture inside, as they are faced with Unconsecrated right away, at least most are. The Unconsecrated keep out the creatures and beings who want to trespass into the woods or the creatures that reside inside, but a few of the townsfolk have found a safe way in. It’s a confusing and quixotic place as there are no signs to help you if you are lost and the trees and various shrubbery change shapes, places, and colors every hour. Do not step inside the woods unless you have a quick mind or a camera, as you will got lost quick immediately and lose yourself and your life soon after.

"I fucking hate nature!" Odette exclaimed as she stumble over a rock for the
second time. She could deal with the snakes, bugs, spiders and various other deadly
creatures that roamed the Hollow but if she tripped one more goddamn time she was gonna
lose her mind. It didn't help that she carried a bag full of candles and a spellbook on
her shoulder, putting her off balance.

Oliver was busy at the bookstore, picking up a last couple of essential items
before he joined his sister in the woods.

She was not alone, though. The girl who was in the diner earlier - Lilith - had been
hiking and was just coming around a bend near one of the smaller creeks when she heard
someone shout. "I fucking hate nature!" She erupts into a fit of giggles and jogs
on her tiptoes towards where the sound had come from.

She's just in time to watch the blonde twin from Hoodoo Voodoo trip over what she assumes
is another rock or root. "Seems like you've got two left feet."

"Oh, um, yeah. It seems that way." Odette said. She had seen Lilith around but the
two had never spoken. Odette just assumed that she avoided them like the rest of town.
Odette nervously shifted her feet. She was fine with Ollie, and decent in public but it
was the one on one she struggled with.

"Is your hair naturally that color?" Lilith admires her locks as she falls into
step alongside Odette. There's a noticeable feeling of power around her, but most suspect
it's just the confident way she carries herself. "What're you doing out here, anyways?
It's so cold out."

"Oh, um, my brother and I spend a lot of time out here." Odette said as she
walked. "Actually, I think it feels pretty nice out."

"That's neat. Your brother, he's the one you were with in the diner, right?"
Lilith walks to the side and just behind Odette, sensing her unease. She'd fuck off soon
enough, as long as they weren't going to the treehouse. That place was her home away from
home and she didn't want too many people knowing about it. "Yeah, I mean, I like the cold
too, but I think it's supposed to rain later, so it's gonna get all sleet-y."

"Oh, I'm sure we'll be fine." Odette said. Their was something about Lilith that
reminded her of a young Stephanie. Same eyes almost. "Like I said, we spend a lot of time
out here."

Oliver is an hour late when he finally finds Odette in the forest. And - she's
got a friend with her? He chuckles lowly and shrugs. Either they'd find someone they
have something in common with, or they'd send her running for the hills. Either way, they
win.
"Hey, Oddie, who's your friend?" He looks Lilith up and down.

Lilith rolls her eyes and stuffs her hands into her pockets. "Lilith. I'm, uh - new to the
town."

Oliver nods and rubs his hands together. "Shall we get started, little sis?"

"After you," Odette says motioning to the clearing just ahead of them. "This is
our spot," she explains to Lilith, "We picked it because at midnight the moon sits
directly above us."

ooc: time to show off the skills i learned when i dabbled in wicca

"Sinister." Lilith follows them into the clearing and sits on the damp grass. She could
feel the power of the forest radiating up from the dirt, into her feet, through her body
and out her fingertips. She relaxes and watches, prepared to offer her services if they
ask her for assistance.

Oliver removes everything from his bag and lays it out in the center of the three. Five
black candles, well-used, are placed in a star. An Athame is placed to the left of the
pentagram and to the right, a small mirror. He removes a wooden bowl and places it in the
center of the star, then flashes a wicked grin to Odette. Next, he draws two incense from
his bag and put them at the 'spirit' point of the star, the candle closest to Odette.
Finally, he removes a burlap sack, and from that a small cat. Upon first glance the cat
was clearly Ingrid, one of the many cats the twins kept around Hoodoo Voodoo for sinister
purposes just like this.

"Are you ready?" He flicks a lighter and lights one of the incense, then begins to light
the candles with that. When they are all lit, a shock wave, though mild, can be felt
coming out from the altar.

"You have to ask?" Odette responds, with a small giggle. The power from the altar
surges through her body. It makes her feel electric. Her eyes flick to the other girl.
Would she run for the hills like everyone else or was this chic actually brave enough to
roll with them? She'd have to prove herself though.

Oliver nods as he grips the scruff on the neck of their cat. In his free hand he
takes the Athame. Whilst holding the cat over the wooden bowl in the center, Oliver wastes
no time sacrificing the animal. The knife slips across its throat and it's instantly
lifeless, limp, and its' blood is pouring into the wooden bowl below.

Once the steady stream becomes just a slow drip, Oliver stuffs the cat back into the sack
and places it in his backpack to dispose of later. He places the Athame over his palm and
s l i c e s, then lets his blood drip into the bowl. He hands the knife to Lilith.

Lilith doesn't hesitate. She slices deep into her hand and lets her blood fall into the
bowl. Another surge of power flies out of the center when she does. She holds the
knife out to Odette, allowing her hand to bleed freely into the ground. She feels - odd.

Odette doesn't flinch when the cat, one of her favorites in fact, is killed. She
takes the knife from Lilith and slashes open her palm. Her crimson blood drips into the
bowl. Odette turns her hand over, examining the cut, then quickly squeeze it into a fist
and looks to her brother.

Oliver removes a small piece of paper from his pocket. On it is a black and white
photo of Stephanie DeWitt, taken long before she went dark-side. He places it photo-down
onto the mirror. He holds out his hands for both of them to take.

Lilith takes the strange boys' hand and he can feel the darkness coming from inside of
her. It almost - almost - frightens him. When Lilith and Odette have joined hands,
he begins the chant. "Ad construgendum, ad ligandum eos, pariter et solvendum, et ad,
congregantum eos, coram me."
