Doesn't anybody else think we could have a better governing type?

How do you guys feel about communism?

I think it's an alright idea, except for the fact that the government gets way too much
power, and it goes to their heads. Maybe if we morphed that idea with a different one...

for those of you that don't know, communism is where the government holds all the
money/ power. They spread it out equally. So think of a pie as the money. Everybody gets
an equal share of it.
However, the govnt also gets to tell you what to do. "Your daddy was a plumber, so you'll
be a plumber."
The downside to that part is the smartest person in the world could become a plumber. And
that would just suck.

I also think socialism is a pretty good idea... except the sucky part is it's got a bad
rep based on it's closeness to communism...

So, what do you guys think?

Communism like Anarchy are terrific in principle but they are hopelessly flawed when it
comes to actual application.

Both philosophies rely too much on the "goodness" of human beings, but mankind is
inherently flawed, selfish and imperfect.

A capitalist democracy recognizes that man is inherently selfish and uses that as part of
the structure of the society and thats why it tends to work better.

I agree with Oroborus, and though those policys are excellent in theory, if you look to
history you will find that they are more hopelessly flawed than Democracy. Democracy
recognizes those flaws, mentioned by Oroborus, and although it still has weaknesses, I do
believe that America's goverment could be the best in the world, even though we are having
a boatload of problems. However, these problems are not due to the goverment, but rather
the critical mistakes made by it's people and it's representatives in goverment,
including it's presidential staff.

The actual govermental system is at little fault, and times like these make us look to
alternative things to blame, including the goverment itself.
