Try the Mortal Instruments series
Or Graceling by Kristen Cashore--that one completely mesmerized me
I need a hope
I need a light
Something to look to
In the arctic night
Where beauty abounds
In everything
There, my friends, is what I need

The Maximum Ride Series is good. But you really need to read all of them at one time to fully understand it. For a simple quick read, try Killing God. Harry Potter is good, but everyones read it. And plus the film has spoiled the plot has it not?

The "Wake" Series. Three books, fairly long, bout 300 pages a piece. It goes Wake, Fade,
Gone. Its about a girl who gets sucked into other peoples dreams. Pretty good read.

Well, I suppose I could suggest the Chrestomanci series and anything by Diana
Wynne Jones. They're very enjoyable but I would definitely recommend 'The Book of Lost
Things' by John Connolly. Excellent, excellent book.
