I just finished this about an hour ago.

- I can't believe i did so good on this though.
- I was going for Realistic but somewhere along the way i crossed over to the more
cartoony side of art... (IDK i just did..)

- I was trying to do the color and everything! But it just didn't end up realistic
looking.. D=

‹XX Joker XX›">

Compared to --->

Ya i tweek a few things like the eyes aren't orange but red.. Of course..
But I was using this kitty to try and get some idea's about its body and stuff..
But i messed up the color, and the tail.. And i didn't even do the strips they were
so hard!

PLUS I GOT OMEGA LAZY when it came to the left eye so i made the poor thing
handicaped by putting an Eye patch over it!

(I understand if its just Me. But i still think it looks kinda Sexy.. lol)

Tell me Critics is it good REALISTIC drawing? Or did i fail? =/

P.s no its not my cat... ..

To me it's not that realistic ;_;...BUT it looks sweet! I love the way you made it messy giving it an awsome style!Plus, when you made it messy it makes the cat look hairy. Lol. I'm not helping am I? (edit) cat's don't have eyebrows... :O (/edit)

Thankies =D

I was trying to MAX-OUT the furr so it'd look like at least an animal.

Any tips on Realism Then? D; i suck at mixing paint to get the realistic look.. And the
eyes too.
Ya u were helping... .. Helping me feel better! =D
Thank u critic!
I though the eyebrows would make him look sifisticated or intellegent.. Or something! xD
lol I guess that was a bit cartoony, though..

As lil_L had said, I would say it's more of a cartoon style.

When I draw realistic animals I tend to use more texture (especially fur). Otherwise you
have the smooth colour tone look, which indicates cartoon.
I also find when people look at pictures of animals, usually one of the first things that
their eyes are drawn to are the animals eyes, which I'll just focus on below.

An important thing to know is that the "white" area of the eyes are rarely ever white.
When you look at the reference picture you used it even shows that the "White area" is
actually grey.
If there is any area that is actually white it is usually only the light reflection. Which
you did very well. And I saw that you also caught on to the shading of the iris, since
you did make the outide a darker red and inside lighter.
(And I use the term "white area" because I fail in eye terminology.)

I'll put a pic of a cat sketch I've done below... which I think will show how texture can
help in making something appear more realistic. It's not that I'm trying to be harsh or
anything. I just am happy that someone is actually interested in drawing realism and am
trying to help as best as I can.  ^^;;
