{|Notice the word 'central'. The library is a whole complex of buildings. This is the main. There are two others, with their own respective topics: A Complex and B Complex.|} The central library, the pride and joy of the school. Rows and rows of shelves filled with books reaching for the ceiling, some as old and battered as our grandfathers, others as new and crisp as our best clothes. Busts and sculptures of great people stand in the room, multiple librarians located at different places, for it is impossible for only one or two librarians to manage a library of such great area. There are ladders and stairs to help reach higher places. Everything is peaceful here, with only the occasional hush of the librarian or the rustling of pages to disturb the silence.

After being told off by the gardener to stop stepping on the grass, Nicolas soon reached the grand doorway of the Central Library. He had finish his sandwich while he was still in the Gardens, and then disposed of the wrapper as he neared a trash can. "Wow, amazing library." Nico said softly in awe. He'd often heard of huge libraries, but even got a good estimate of how truly large the central library was. As he made his way around, he saw the history books section. There, he looked pulled out a rather battered volume. "Portugal's Past" He read aloud, and received a stern glance from the librarian. He quickly went behind the shelf and started softly leafing through, his back leaning against the book shelf. A country's name soon caught his eye. "Philippines." He pointed towards it. It had mentioned Spain afterwards. It must mean it became a colony of Spain afterwards. He disliked history, but this place has caught his interest. After all, it was one of the south-east Asia countries. How did the westerners get hold of them? He put the old book back and turned towards the librarian who had shushed him earlier. "Erm, do you have any history books regarding the country Philippines?" The middle-aged lady nodded and proceeded to look through a shelf some isles away from where she had been. She soon returned to Nicolas with a leather-bound volume in her hands. "Philippine history. Now hush." Nico soon found one of the numerous comfortable sofas and chairs scattered around the huge library and began thumbing through the pages.

Nikki entered the building very quietly and she started looking through the books.. "Finally.." she said quietly.. She brought out 5 very thick books and which were all about 'World War II'. The closest seat she could walk to was the one Nicolas was sitting in.. She quickly put the books down and sighed in relief. She sat a few inches away from Nicolas and read the books.. "It's too bad Cuba and Philippines were even put in the battle of World War II" she said quietly..

OOC: Specifically, what're Nikki's academic strengths? It appears she's more into literature and history. My little Nico's weak at literature, history, social studies, political science and all that stuff. But he's incredible in science and mathematics. All those that require logical thinking. x]
"Oh, sorry?" He mumbled softly. Nico realized he was sitting a few inches from the female he saw from his dormitory window earlier. He was absorbed with the part when America soon got 'custody' of the Philippines. He wasn't in the mood to chat around right now. Especially since it was one of those rare times he was actually interested in learning history. It was the end of the Spanish-American war but the start of the Philippine American war. "Who knew these easterners had so much to do with us?" He muttered under his breath. Nicolas continued reading silently paying no attention to the girl beside him whatsoever.

OOC: Yep History,Biology and Literature are Nikki's favorites..
She smiled and laughed a bit and didn't reply.. She went back to reading she sighed and stood up.. She found another book this time about Oceanography and she started reading.. She then switched back to the History of World War II.. She brought out a notebook and a pen and she started scribbling notes very quickly.. She looked pleased with herself and she returned all the books and she happily started to read 'Pride and Prejudice.'

After some painstakingly minutes of avoiding the human society, Johann finally found himself immeresed in rows and rows of books. He was in heaven. Drifting left, Johann ran his hands across the spine of each book before stopping on one. It was thick - five hundred pages at least - with the words 'The Book Thief' in Old English font. An old favourite of his. Plucking it from the shelf, Johann cast a quick glance around the library and spotted two people sitting on a comfortable looking sofa but his gaze only lingered there for a few moments before he found a seat across the sofa, just out of earshot of the pair.

He didn't notice but her gaze was fixed on him.. "Hmm... I guess he's shy?..."
she said thinking to herself.. She stood up and walked near him.. She sighed and smiled at
him.. "Uh... Hi..."

A small gasp escaped Johann and he immediately averted his eyes from the young lady; slamming his book in surprise. A nearby librarian shushed him. Stuttering in hushed tones, Johann replied - turning embarassingly red as he usually did when someone of the opposite gender decided to indulge themselves with a conversation. Unfortunately, avoiding other people could only work for so long. "Oh - hello there." He smiled, but it was almost lost and nervous; shy beyond belief.

Alex opened the doors to the central library and gasped softly at the sight before him.
Now this was a grand, grand library indeed. Elegant Gothic arches lined the
ceilings and he inclined his neck to observe them as he slowly walked inside. Books upon
books. He tried to imagine the sheer amount of information contained with these walls but
gave up (a bit reluctantly) and allowed himself to merely gaze at the rows of books before
him. He took his time, leisurely walking the aisles and scanning the book shelves, up/down
left/right. He paused every once in a while to adjust a book that jutted out of the shelf
and defied order.

The black spine of a book caught his eye. Cosmos, by Carl Sagan. Alex remembered that when
he was 10 he'd borrowed this book from a local library, but his frustrated 10-year-old
self didn't understand a word of it. He would likely understand it now. He plucked the
book from the shelf and continued, only to recognize the name of another physicist or
scientist. By the time he reached the end of the aisle he had 5 books in his arms, each
heavier than the last. He approached the nearest empty seat by a blonde boy and
brown-haired girl, but backpedaled some steps when he saw yet another book that caught his
eye.

"Hrmmm..." Alex stood there for a few seconds debating whether or not he should try to
hold yet another book.

"Don't worry I don't bite.." and she smiled upon his reaction.. She looked at his eyes..
She began to talk when the librarian shushed her.. "Oops sorry" she whispered and smiled..
She glanced back to Johann. "My name is Nicole.. " and a tiny smile formed on her lips.

Johann blinked; trying to decide whether the girl was being funny or not. The he remember the many times he stuck close to his elder sister and the way girls tended to word things. Such complicated creatures. Still, Johann knew that girls did not take kindly to being ignored, so he responded. "Hello, Nicole." Then after a few seconds of contemplation, he decided that not giving his own name might offend the young lady, so quickly added: "I'm Johann." Another presence nearby told Johann that yet another person was in the library - and painfully close. How many people would he have to encounter today? Not that he had a choice. He was surrounded by people, and would always be. His eyes glanced briefly to the dark haired boy whose arms seemed to be pile with thick book before returning a little hesitantly towards the girl who had introduced herself as Nicole. As awkward as always, Johann said nothing; index finger running up and down the spine of the book in a distracted manner.

Nicolas soon closed the book and walked towards the librarian to give it back to her. As he was about to leave, he noticed another student struggling with an armful of books. He went towards him, and quickly grabbed the first two that was on top of the dark-haired boy's pile. "Need help?" He said it softly, for fear of being told off by the librarian. He bent his head, gesturing towards the thick volumes. "It's apparent you require another pair of arms to carry all that."
OOC: Short post is short.

Alex blinked in surprise when two books inexplicably disappeared from his arms. Oh, there
was a person there.

"Thanks", he said quietly, smiling politely. The stranger seemed nice enough, but Alex
hoped he wasn't looking for a conversation. Social interaction usually irritated him. Alex
took the book he had been eyeing. The Selfish Gene, by Richard Dawkins. His theory had
been kosher for decades and Alex was familiar with it, but he'd never read the book.

He glanced around for a second after adding the book to his pile.
"Could you point me towards the checkout counter? This is my first time at the library and
I didn't see it when I came in." he asked quietly.

Johann grinned, slightly embarrassed and wondering if he had offended Nicole with his lack of social skills. "Oh - um, well..." Johann nervously brushed a stubborn curl from his face. "Yes - I am wondering as to why you would choose to associate yourself with me." He shrugged and flicked through the book in his hand slowly; the sound of the thin pages sounded almost loud in the quiet of the library. "Not to be impolite, or anything," Johann added with a half smile. OOC;; Ew. Short post.
