((okay, so i decided to just let meepingmeep read the two *i scrathed out the 3rd*
versions of the story and i like the one she chose, so that's what i'm goin with. enjoy.
comment. por favor *bobs head in japanese manner*merci))

I inhale the air of my long forgotten home. Nostalgia washes over me in a comforting
wave. I look up at the trees, realizing that they no longer look as tall as they used to
be. A smile broadens upon my lips.
  Home, I think.
I walk over to one tree that seems...familiar. My hand reaches out and touches
the rough bark. Memories come in rapid flashes of color, sound, smell. I pull my hand away
in shock. I look down at my tingling hand. Again, with more caution, I touch the tree.
Once. Twice.
  No memories. No...anything.
How peculiar, I think. I touched it, I remembered. I touch it again, and
nothing.
My hand rests on the bark, relishing the warm tingling sensation that lingered from its
previous experiment. I noticed a pale groove in the bark. My fingers skimmed over the
marking. The hot, strange sensation hits me again, but slower. My eyes widen as my past
unfolded before my eyes. Childhood, adulthood, present. I watched the scenes as my heart
began to race. I began to remember...to feel the past. Hear it. Taste it.
  Then, my story begins...

CHAPTER ONE

  "You're no fun, Thomas."
  I grunted and kept walking.
  "Did you hear me, Thomas?"
"Unfortunately, yes." I mumbled. Out of nowhere, I tripped and fell on my face with an
"oof". I looked up to see the annoying girl that had been pestering me. "Wha'dja do
that for?"
She smiled swetly down at me. "Because you weren't listening."
I clenched my jaw and growled. I rolled onto my back and got up. After brushing myself
off, I glared down at her. "Why do you insist on following me around? We never talk, we
have never been friends--our fathers were enemies. Adversaries," I said. When she just
blinked up at me, I sighed and shook my head. "You don't care, do you?"
She shook her head, her brunette curls bouncing.
  "Why not?"
Her little shoulders shrugged. "Just because our fathers were enemies doesn't mean we
should be," she said.
I looked down at her She had short messy curls with sky blue eyes that were big,
reminding me of a pony. Like me, she tanned easily from running around in the woods all
the time. And she was a little thing, too. About two or three inches shorter than me. Her
frame was also small. If I felt like it, I could pick her up with one arm.

((okay, random continuation. idk if it's gonna sound good cuz it's just spur of the
moment. and even though you can't tell (due to lack of explaination) this is a robin hood
kinda story. so hopefully you know some of the characters mentioned. if not, i'll explain
later))

Though Abigail was shorter and smaller than I, she was not the least bit scared of me.
It was disappointing, really. How could I be a rough, tough young boy when a girl younger
and smaller than him laughed at him growling at her.
"You know, Thomas." she said in that precocious little voice of hers. "You should stop
trying to intimidate me so much. I mean, what good will come out of us being enemies?"
I snorted. "It would get you away from me."
She just giggled. "Nah, you don't want that. My father--"
  "Was a thief."
"--helped many people when he was younger. He still does."
I folded my arms and glared down at her. "He robbed from the rich."
"To give to the poor," she shot back. She put her hands on her hips. "If you're
just going to argue wth me, I might as well go home."
"Then go," I sneered. When she gave me a small frown, I smirked.
She gave a little huff. "Well, fine then. I am going home!"
I stood there and watched her stomp away. Typical, I thought. She's just like
her father. When she doesn't get what she wants she walks away. But once she was
almost out of my sight, I began to feel strange. As if a cloud was looming overhead. I
looked up and saw that it was bright out and that the sun was still shining gayly.
Odd, I thought. Then suddenly, I began to follow Abigail. Something isn't
right. An ominous feeling creeped up my spine, chilling my bones. I kept a fair
distance between us and made sure that she could not see me. If something were to happen
to Abigail...
What?, my inner voice demanded. Who cares? She's a little brat. You don't like
her anyway. Let her walk home by herself, you creep.
I sighed and stopped walking after her. "What am I doing? Nothing's gonna happen. She'll
be fi--"
A shrill scream interrupted my voiced thought.
"Shit," I muttered, running as fast as I could toward the sound. My heart thudded
in my ears, thrumming through my veins.
