some scholars call it the Near East by the way.........

So how about it? Is it possible? Do you think it will ever happen? What is necessary for
it to happen?

and the big question.....is it because of RELIGION that peace in the Middle East
(especially we are talking about the Israeli situation) is so hard to achieve or do
economic and political factors play an equal role?

I don't think it'll happen any time, but I believe it is possible.

Solution 1: Have a seperate Palestinian state.
Solution 2: Blow them all up?

in some religions and some churches by the way, peace in the Middle East, especially upon
Jerusalem is seen as one of the last percursors before:

Christ's Second Coming / Armageddon / The Rapture / etc.

Matthew 24:6 - You will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not frightened.
For these things must take place, but the end is not yet.
Matthew 24:7 - For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom.

Oh sure, blowing them up will really help. xD

It probably won't happen any time soon, but I agree that it's possible. (Peace, not
blowing them up)

Lol, Saralyn247, blowing them up would help.

I do believe in peace, though. I think anything is possible if we work hard.

To start, stop taking their OIL!!! They could be using the oil themselves, maybe, um, to
lubricate their camels.

Seriously we are putting more ammo and weapons in the area with every fill-up of
Exxon-Mobil-Chevron Super Grade premium gasoline with techron. The tv commercials should
have the current kill rate in the middle east beneath them, so people have a clue they are
financing the bloodiest war of wars.

No, it won't be peaceful there, three of the worlds most violent religions have the same
holy land, in the same exact spot.

How does one piece of parched desert land have more significance than another piece of
parched desert land.

History is a slight indicator that things will never be peaceful until they are all dead
in the area, which might be very soon given the nuclear arms race happening there.

Until people stop thinking about how their sky god will kick the other guys sky god's ass
reeel gud, we will not stop killing people there, they will not stop killing people
there, and several millennia of resentment and hostility will continue.

Religion requires faith to adhere to, everything else is made up.
