What does hello do, other than show you've read the diary? I've never seen a rating or
category or anything appear, even with lots of Hello's.
Pointless comment is pointless.

Yeah! When you give a hello, you choose the rating, but when I look at my diary, and see
the hello's it doesn't show me what the rating was! I don't get it.

I think they're similar to how you 'like' posts on facebook. (If that doesn't make sense,
it's just as it seems.) If you enjoy the diary, you 'hello' it.

actualy i was thinking about this today also...and wondering whether it should be
someting other than "hello"

like normally if i do that instead of leaving a comment, i want to let the person know i
read it, and approve of what they are saying...but dont need to bother with an actual

In the past I've hello'd diaries I didn't necessarily like or agree with.. In fact I
think it'd be kinda the opposite, but I didn't know what to say at all so I just put a
Hello to show that I read it.

well too if i dont really know the person....sometimes i will just Hello it.. so thats
sort of like what youre saying CoCo...

i just wish there were more options than just helllo....

and like does it even count for purposes of getting KPs to Helllo the diaries? or only
comments count?

in a random thought...it sure would be fun if longer comments earned a higher rate of
Kps then just short, "nice diary" comments of only a few words...

Hey, a random idea for Hina to ignore:
the author can rate comments, say 0-5, and the commenter gets a larger or smaller amount
of kp for it.
Pointless comment is pointless.

@8: that would be cool, we'd all be rich within 4 days if we really think of something
meaningful to write :D
You who think you know it all are annoying to those of us that do.

@9: Or our friends would always rate high TT_TT
But I think it would encourage Newpikans to comment more and make friends.
Pointless comment is pointless.

The only thing wrong I can see with rating comments is that it's open to abuse. If you
don't like someone you could rate them low, or if their point disagrees with yours then
you'd just rate them low, no matter how well put together etc. the comment was. :3

Well, that's the point. Like YouTube.
Pointless comment is pointless.

um... besides... someone could want kp bad, and go to one of their friends diaries, write
"Blah", and, because the person is their friend they will rate "Blah" 5 for them.
