These are the dormitories of the ballerinas and chorus girls. Every girl has her
own bed and a shared dresser with the person beside her. There are two rows of beds, one
on either side of the room. There is a large vanity in the back, as well as an enormous
wardrobe with everyone's clothing.

Ellie sat on her bad nose deep in a book catching evil glances from the other ballerinas
they told her that reading was unladylike and she shouldn't spen so much time worrying
about it. She scoffed she never took much pleasure in giggling about boys and shopping.

 Souris trudged in discreetly.
"Annette Miron?" She called out softly, her grey eyes scoping the room. A beautiful
ballerina with long black curls turned to her and wrinkled her nose. "What is it, Souris?"
She asked her, looking at her as if she were a filthy creature from the streets. Souris
bowed her head, and held out an envelope. "I have a letter from a Monsieur Arnaud Brujon."
The ballerina brightened visibly at the sound of her sweetheart's name, and snatched the
letter quickly. She glared at Souris one more time, whispering about her to her friends.
Souris moved around the room, delivering letters to the other dancers.

Hearing one girl sigh, Souris raised her head in the direction of a ballerina.
This was Eleanor, another quiet ballerina, and one of the only ones who didn't take every
opportunity to mock her.

Ellie looked up at Souris and back to her book. Ellie wasn't one to make eye contact

Licking her teeth behind closed lips, Souris left the room without bidding any of
the girls goodbye, almost no one noticing her leave.

Adrienne noted she had, yet again, no letters but shrugged it off. She was not in the type
of mood to get upset over such things. Looking around, she glanced at a few ballerina's,
but this action was so small it was almost nothing. She sat on her bed, the bottoms of her
feet touching and she held them, pressing her legs down flat against the bed with her
knees to stretch.

Souris returned, her cap pulled low over her eyes, having forgotten to deliver
one envelope. The ballerina to whom it was addressed scowled at her, and expressed her
hope that she hadn't soiled it in her filthy hands. Titters rose and fell from several of
the ballerinas, and Souris bowed her head even lower, murmuring that she hadn't.

Ellie looked around at the ballerinas and scoffed accidentally loud enough for everyone
to hear.

Souris looked over at Eleanor, and kept her head down, wondering if she was
scoffing at her. Who wouldn't, anyhow? She pulled her hat further over her eyes, her hair
looking as if it was that of a boy's as it was pinned up there.

Ellie watched as the ballerina next to her made a joke about Souris.
"Leave her alone!" Ellie exclaimed before she could think.

Surprised that someone was standing up for her, Souris expressed a look of silent
gratitude, while the ballerinas glared at the both of them. Souris made to leave the room.

Adrienne watched Souris, feeling sorry for the poor girl. She wondered what she was really
like, underneath the shy outside shell that seemed broken so easily. I bet, she
thought to herself, that she's really a lovely person to talk to.
