intensepleasure, perhaps my post was misunderstood.
im not advocating for more clubs but fewer. i also think that inactive clubs should be
deleted, i think that clubs who's owner deletes their account should be deleted (because
that is just a ridiculous situation! especially now that Hina took my suggestion and
created a way to transfer club ownership to someone).
when you think about it, all Kupika clubs really are, are a "forum" or bulletin-board just
like has been around since the Net began practically. their only REAL feature are regular
ol forum/bulletin-board Discussion threads were someone posts a TOPIC and others post
comments on that topic creating a thread, (in addition to the club description page),
otherwise they are just little bullentin boards that are "packaged" in a way where all
that you would normally see and do with a bullentin board (see the members, topics, etc.)
is just arranged in a certain way.
The fact that Hina calls these Clubs is just a way of designating what they are and giving
a bit more "virtual liveliness" to them, but the reality is they are only small bulletin
boards designated by the creators to address specific topics or areas. A club on the
Jonas Brothers is just a small forum/bb on the jonas brothers nothing more. And of course
like Kupika.net or any other forum there is the added element where teh creator can
designate to allow guest posting or make a person join the bulletin board (club) first to
post or comment.
If you think about it in terms like that then you understand that what im saying is that
instead of allowing individuals to create a million clubs and have all of these useless
clubs on kupika.
Hina could have just created it so that there are a LIMITED number of such clubs/bulletin
boards, at least with respect to the major categories. I bet there could be about 30
categories/clubs that would cover every major category: MuSIC, WRITING, ANIME/MANGA,
Everyone should be free to post on these like a bulletin board (like in Knet) and like you
can do in clubs that have Guest Posting enabled, only they should be able to create topics
There would be no need for an "owner" or join approvals, and the community itself would
through public censure and group peer pressure do its best to enforce standards and insure
that posts made to these clubs were appropriate to the topic. PERHAPS, a few people in
each club could be empowered with moderator power to actually delete off-topic posts (like
in K.net) but i dont really think that is necessary as those off topic could just be
ignored by everyone.
the system could be set-up so that topics that didnt have any activity for a certain
period (like 3 months) were automaticaly deleted (if thats not too difficult to do) or
such discussion threads could be periodically culled.
NOW, this would allow everyone to "join" that is to comment on as many of the official
clubs/discussions as they want, and without "joining" so the club limit wouldnt be an
This would drastically address the problems of having 10 clubs dedicated to naruto or the
jb or twilight etc.
I would continue and prefer if each person got to create up to 3 clubs/bulletin boards of
their own where they could make the membership exclusive and make the contents private and
I think that would continue to serve those needs which are useful for "exclusive" clubs
like clubs of mature-material, gender-exclusive clubs, gossip clubs, or such small
discussion boards/clubs where the person only wants their friends to be members and
associate with them on it.
(But note that such personal Clubs should only have the option of being CLOSED/private and
couldnt be an open club....otherwise if someone wanted to create their own open club on
Naruto for example, or Role Playing for example, they would have to just use one of the
Official Clubs that im talking about. People could make their own private club on that
topic, but if others see there is an open club already on that topic then the club creator
wont get many members and that would be a or should be an incentive NOT to create a
personal club, especially on a general topic that is already being covered by the
so i hope this better explains what i meant to say would be a good solution to the problem
about too many clubs on kupika.
