I stand in the Backround.

I am cheering, watching the heroes of the story triumph once again.

I am holding a rifle, a nameless soldier waiting to fight.

I am the classmates, just trying to make it through the day.

I am never mentioned,

My name is never known.

Nonexistent in the eyes of the reader.

I simply fill empty space,

Until the main character walks in.

I am the Crowd.

No one hears me.

No one sees me.

But I am here.

Waiting for the Hero to fall.

Waiting for the enemy to attack.

Waiting for the main character to ask for help.

The author doesn’t mention me.

The author doesn’t write my name.

The author won’t let me be seen.

For I am the Crowd,

Standing in the Backround.

Please critique as you wish.

Oh my gosh, that is very good.
Nice insight, and a good point of view to write from. I like the sense of desperateness
at the end.

I agree with tiggerlemon101.
It explains a lot. The desperateness not so much, though. I don't actually get that feel.
I get more of the feeling that there is a sense of reliability.

Yeah, there is also a sense of reliability. But the thing is, I am a very deep thinking
(to put it in positive words... more like perversely negative thinking ) person. So
you can now kinda see where I got the deperateness from.
