The Polish boy walked down the hall, looking around at the walls as he thought of many
different kinds of pranks to pull on his roommate. He shifted one of his bags into the
other hand and grabbed the doorknob. This is going to be an interesting year. He
grinned to himself as he opened the door and walked in. Jaromir took a deep breath,
dropping his bags. He stretched a bit, looking around the room. "It looks pretty plain."
He shook his head, picking up his bags and setting them on the bottom bunk. As he sat down
by his bags, he started unpacking them calmly. He raised his eyebrow a bit at a few things
his mother had packed for him, such as a stuffed elephant. "What the..." He sighed,
shaking his head. They still thought of him as a child, though he did act like one a lot.
He opened the window, and chucked the toy out of it. "There."

The two of them -his twin and himself- had gotten there a bit early, quite a bit early at that; his sister was excited about the prospect of dorms, sharing a room with another person, and refused to be anything but the first one there; that meant she got to set the rules, she said. Knox, however, felt quite the opposite; being in a room meant to be shared with another person.. being in there first, claiming the bed the other person might have wanted- it scared him shitless. So he help up the line a bit when getting his dorm key, and when sternly told to 'move his ass' he wandered around a bit. About an hour later after he discovered that, yes, all the vending machines on the floors did work, and had been asked three times if he was lost, he figured he'd be safe enough to go in. Pulling the key he'd stuffed into his pocked, Knox looked at the number, taking note that he'd seen those set of numbers down the hall not fifteen feet from him. With a sigh, he walked down said hall, pulling his single suitcase behind him until he reached the door with the number that matched his keys- 209. (cool huh. remember that. /; ) Outside of the door he stood, contemplating trying the door to see if it was locked, but if it was then he'd just have to- so instead he made a fist, knocking on the door.

After a moment of contemplating opening the door, Jaromir grinned as he walked up to the
door. "Hello! Kto tam jest?" He called, grabbing the door. He enjoyed confusing people by
speaking Polish, but didn't do that often. He brushed his hair out of his eyes and opened
the door. "Hey." He grinned, and went back to unpacking.

Foot tapping a light rhythm against the floor, Knox stood outside of the door waiting for it to be opened- if it was going to be opened, though he was almost certain that his dorm mate was already here. He waited for another moment before he heard what seemed to be a foreign reply and grimaced to himself- his sister always enjoyed spewing curses at him that she'd learned in Latin class, not that he had any idea what they were- he just hoped his mate wouldn't be offended if he didn't reply to that. He stood awkwardly as the door was opened and his mate's face appeared- a boy, not bad looking either, though he wasn't quite sure if that meant good or bad things for him. The boy's face disappeared as quickly as it appeared and Knox still stood there, blinking. It wasn't until a few slow seconds later that he walked though the door, dragging his suitcase behind him.

"Top bunk for ya." Jaromir chuckled a bit, leaning back on his elbows. "My name's Jaromir
Kaczmarek, from Poland. You must be my roommate, huh?" He shook his head and resumed
unpacking. "You know, this country is very strange. I've heard rumors, but I guess some
are just false, huh?" He shrugged, and looked at his roommate for a moment. He was pretty
cute. He smirked a bit and took out some notebooks, setting them by him.

Knox shut the door behind him with a quiet click, rolling his bag with him to the center of the room where he promptly stood like an idiot. Top bu- no way in hell was he pronouncing that boy's name, "Knox," he said quietly, sinking down cross legged so that he could unpack his own things. He unzipped the rather large suitcase- given it held his backpack full of supplies, clothes, bedding, laptop, and everything else he needed, it had to be quite large, and pulled out the bedding to put on the bunk he was told was his, "DeRough," he added.

"Nice." Jaromir nodded, smirking a bit. "Your name is quite easy to pronounce, Knox. You
can call me Jaro if you want." He picked up a candy bar from in his bag and started
unwrapping it. The dark chocolate candy bar was half melted, but he didn't seem to care.
"I managed to hide some candy and other things in my luggage. Want some?" He looked over
at him, holding it out. It wasn't a known brand of candy, at least not in America.

Knox nodded slowly, agreeing on both matters as he began the process of ripping opening the package holding his bedding. Just about successful, he glanced up when hearing something offered, giving a wary glance at the chocolate; it wasn't something he recognized, which made sense being offered by Jaromir Kaczmarek, from Poland. "No thank you," he murmured, ducking his head back down and returning to the task at hand.

Jaromir nodded, and started nibbling on the candy. "Suit yourself, then." He shrugged,
and continued unpacking. "So, where are you from?" He asked calmly, tossing some old socks
over his shoulder. He seemed to not care about being neat, and was clearly bored. He
brushed his hair out of his eyes and put a stack of books by his feet on the ground.

Packaging between his teeth, Knox glanced up at the boy again, "Hnngh?" A sharp pull of teeth left a tear wide enough that Knox could now use his fingers to pull it open, wincing inwardly at the throbbing now in his teeth, "We uh- we moved a lot." he settled with, instead of naming the many states they'd settled in. Sheets finally in hand, Knox stood from his sitting position, looking awkwardly at Jaromir; he knew he was supposed to continue the conversation so it didn't seem as if he was shutting out any attempts made by the boy -which he actually wasn't- but decided not to further embarrass himself, instead climbing halfway onto the ladder leading to his bed, putting the sheets on.

"Nice. So you saw a lot of sights, then, huh?" Jaromir chuckled, looking up at him. He
poked his leg slightly, then laid down. "Also, if you find a fish in your blanket at any
time, you'll know who did it." He winked a bit.

Knox shifted a bit when touched, but otherwise stayed at the task at hand- making sure his sheets were put on properly and the bed was nicely made, because he tended to be a bit of a perfectionist; which meant it was probably going to be hell living in a room with someone who seemed to be messy.. even if he was cute. The comment, though- a fish? It seemed as if he was living with a prankster? Knox had thought he'd was finished having to constantly look over his back, but it seemed as if he was wrong -though, he doubted that his dorm mate's pranks could be as severe as his sister's were- and he couldn't help the soft quirk of his lips in response, a gesture that turned into a full out smile as he climbed down from the ladder to his bag and looked up at the boy. Challenge accepted. sorry this is long, rambly and awk. //

An almost Cheshire Cat smile appeared on Jaromir's face, and he chuckled, setting his
luggage on the floor. He took out his dark blue sheets, and glanced up at him. "So, you
have any siblings?" He asked curiously, raising his eyebrow a bit.

Knox opened his bag again, contemplating actually taking his clothes out and putting them away versus leaving them in his lockable suitcase, and quickly decided in favor of the latter; he'd learned quick that leaving his clothes unguarded where anyone could get them was just asking for trouble- or in his case, immense itching. "A sister," he replied, double checking to make sure everything was still there; his clothes, supplies, laptop he'd hidden at the bottom, "Twin." he added as he finished his search, zipping back up the bag and locking it.
