a new topic i guess, since all the others are preoccupied. it's the typical city
topic where there are cliche coffee shops and cute book stores with busy streets and a lot
of people. there are apartments and houses as well so i assume your character would have a
living situation somewhere nearby. so yea, this'll be great! :3

Gabriel was walking through the town with a couple of bags in his hands. He got to the
alley where the three of them were staying. He dropped the bag and told them "I got food."
He noticed Zachary sleeping and Aidan sitting on the ground beside him. "He finally fell
asleep. He was complaining of pains again." Gabriel frowned and rested his hand on
Zachary's forehead to check if he had a fever. "You must be patient with him. He is sick
after all. He doesn't feel warm which is good." Aidan smiled a little.

Alba sped hastily through a maze of abandoned roads not far from the city. Her
hear pounded and her breath came fast and warm against the chill air, dragons breath
floating out in front of her face. The children weren't far behind, she could not only
hear their sloppy steps against the dirt but their taunting laughter. Alba took a quick
left and slid underneath a thorn bush silently and watched them smugly as they ran past
without even noticing she was gone.
"Idiots." she muttered as she brushed dirt off her clothes and plucked thorns from her
Alba walked slowly down the street, tired from a long day of being chased, when suddenly
she noticed that people were following her. Oh no, she thought. Not again
Her pace quickened from a walk to a slow sprint as she looked for an easy place to hide.
On her right was an opening between buildings, dark and concealed. An alley. She dashed
forward and took a tight hook into the alley and almost ran into a man. Actually, a group
of men.
"Huh?" Alba breathed, her eyes wild with adrenaline. "I'm sorry, it's just that-" Before
she could finish a boy, a few years older than she, yelled, "There she is!"

Gabriel pointed his gun at the boys head. "I don't know what's going on but you won't
dare hurt her." Aidan smirked a little. They were definitely street kids. Their clothes
were covered in dirt and had some rips in them. Zachary was coughing up some blood and
Aidan rolled him on his side. He pat his back as he coughed so he didn't choke. Aidan
stood up and brushed his hair out of his eyes a little. "You've entered our territory and
dare threaten this girl? Hasn't your little mommy's ever told you about street kids? This
is the city after all." Gabriel laughed a little and took the safety off his gun. He said
darkly to the boy "I would run if I were you. I'm not afraid to kill anyone."

Most of the kids ran for their lives, but three of the oldest stayed behind. They
were scared, but they stood their ground and took hesitant steps forward. But when the man
said he wasn't afraid to kill anyone, they spat and ran off after their group. Alba let
out a breath of relief and stepped to the side.
"Thank you," she said. "Thank you so much." Her eyes wandered to where the kids once stood
then back up at the man. "This wasn't the first time they've been after me, and I assume
it won't be the last." Alba then looked at the man that began to cough, a concerned look
in her eye. She knelt down near him, but not too close.
"Is he alright?" she asked. He smelled of blood.

Gabriel stepped in between her and Zachary protectively. " He pointed the gun at her. His
eyes were cold and untrusting. "You were being chased by those boys... we have no reason
to trust someone like you." Aidan grabbed Gabriel's gun out of his hand and hissed a
little at him. Gabriel just sighed. Aidan told him "your not killing her or anybody else
tonight." he looked at her and explained "our brother is sick. Like really sick. Not just
a cold or any shit like that. Nope. He's dying and the doctors estimated that he's gonna
be dead by the age of 18." Gabriel hissed at him for telling this stranger that they don't
know all of this information. Aidan smiled lightly and said "I feel as though she's good.
She doesn't seem like a mean person that will harm us in anyway." Gabriel took the gun
from him and slipped it in his belt. "You never know, Aidan. Its getting dark. Shouldn't
you be heading to work?" Aidan looked at the sky and noticed the sun setting. He stood up
and said "nice meeting you." He walked out of the alley. Gabriel told her "don't worry.
Our brother is fine. He's just in constant pain. He recently came back from the hospital
so he's stable for now."

"They chase me because I refused to join them," Alba said, still looking down at
the sick brother. Seeing people in pain always made her feel uncomfortable and maybe just
a little bit helpless. She looked at all the men and stood back up, barely reaching their
chests in height. "Do you guys live here in the alley? It's really not suitable for that,
especially if your brother is ill." Alba turned on her heels and stared up at the one that
called her 'good, thinking he was the safest to talk to. "I have a place just up the hill
and I think," she paused, biting her thumbnail as she thought. "I think I may know some
natural remedies that could help ease his pain for a while. I mean, I've just met you and
all, and you have no reason to trust me," she shrugged. "I also don't have much reason to
trust you either, but I want to help." Alba smiled thoughtfully.

Gabriel growled angrily. "We don't need your pity!" He turned his back to her as he
tended to his brother. Zachary opened his eyes a little and looked at Gabriel. He smiled a
little. "Zachary... your awake. How did you sleep?" He asked him. Zachary laughed a bit
and told him "I dreamed about the orphanage again..." Gabriel frowned and stroked his
cheek gently. "Don't worry. I'll always be by your side. You will never go back to that
awful place again." He held Zachary close to him. The three brothers seemed really close
to each other. It was as if they were dependent on only each other and no one else.
Gabriel finally let go of Zachary and looked at the girl. "Its best you don't get involved
with us." He stood up and walked to her. He stroked her cheek lightly. "Your innocence
will most likely be corrupted just by our presence." Zachary walked over and grabbed
Gabriel's sleeve. He whispered something to Gabriel.

Alba scoffed, but shrugged. "Alright, it's not like I can force you to want to
help your brother. So, suit yourselves." she started to walk out of the alley, but before
she left, she turned to the three of them and said, "If you ever change your mind, my
house is the only house at the top of the hill. The one with blue shutters. You're welcome
anytime, I'm usually home."

Gabriel frowned and looked away. He said "wait... fine. We'll stay with you. Lets just
wait until Aidan comes back." Aidan comes back. He was fixing his shirt and he smiled.
"She really clawed at my back. Oh and..." He handed Gabriel some money. It was about $600.
"She didn't pay me well. I usually get at least a grand." He sighed and Gabriel smiled,
amused. "Were staying at her house. Only for Zachary. If we stay here Zachary might die
sooner." Aidan nodded a little, not liking it one bit.

Alba smiled, happy that the boys changed their minds. "Do you need help carrying
anything?" she asked, looking around the space. She vaguely wondered if Aidan was a
prostitute and how her aunt and uncle would feel about her inviting a a group of boys to
stay at the house. It wasn't like they stayed there a lot anyway since they were always on
vacations across the country. And maybe what they didn't know wouldn't hurt them...right?
"It's not far, just about a mile."

Gabriel smiled and lifted her chin a little. "I thank you for all that your doing for
simple street kids like us." He was very flirtatious and that was obvious. Aidan rolled
his eyes. He picked up Zachary and said "he's the only stuff we have. The rest is just
food we've most likely stolen. I don't know how Gabriel gets it." Gabriel just grins and
Aidan chuckles.

Alba blushed but quickly turned her head so no one would see. She wasn't used to
be touched like that.
"It's no problem," she said as she started walking. It seemed to be a little too dark for
this time but she didn't let herself feel afraid. "There are supplies you can use at the
house including un-stolen food and a change of clothes. No offense, but you guys smell
like dirt." Alba laughed and flicked her hair from one shoulder to the other and stroked
it lightly, a nervous habit she does.

Gabriel chuckled and asked "may I ask why those boys were after you?" Aidan was talking
to Zachary in soft whispers until he heard Gabriel's question. He was curious as well.
They did risk their lives for her after all. It better be for good reasons. He hated
making more enemies then they already had.

"It's kind of a long story," Alba said softly, contemplating if she should really
get into right now. "You see, those kids are from a small orphanage at the edge of town.
They sneak out everyday, however, to this 'secret base' out in the park by the pond to
discuss secret things like escaping and planning and whatever. I've never been to the
orphanage, but since I'm an orphan, they started to talk to me at school. No, they don't
go to my school, they just like to do their recruiting there." She sighed and rolled her
eyes, turning left abruptly. "They're basically trying to build an army of talented
orphans, for who knows what. Anyway, I turned them down, and I've turned them down more
than once. So now they're trying to scare me into joining them. But me, being the
smart-ass that I am, I tried to scare them back." she smiled. "Today, I followed one of
them to their base and set just a few things on fire. It wasn't meant to spread, but it
did, and they caught me." Alba shrugged. "It's just petty kid stuff for now, but they're
starting to get a little...malicious."
