I know the road she's going down
And I'm glad that I'm not watching
I know just how she is falling down
And I'm glad I'm not doing the catching
Sometimes all the wisdom of the ages
Is just wasted in the giving
And she won't learn a single lesson
Unless it's one she is living
It seems to me there was a time
When she valued my counsel spoken
But in her mind it still refrained
Only one course for the broken
If she had loved herself as I loved her
Perhaps her pain have mended
But now she throws it away everyday
And lives a life long ended.
