This is just a little something I am working on... it's nothing too special, but I
would like your thoughts. I haven't been able to write as much or include as much detail I
wanted too because of my real life. >.< So in other words it sucks, but yeaah... thoughts
and advice is welcomed!
Running. Running from something. Panting! Screaming! Yet no one came. Real life daymare.
I looked up at the sky which was a pale shade of grey which seemed to reflect my thoughts
of the move, moving from London to well... nowhere. Sorry, I mean Shrewsbury, because
everyone has heard of that now haven't they? My parents have gotton it into their heads
that London isn't a safe place, because of the disease. Shrewsbury is supposed to be nice,
nice if you like cows I'm guessing. That's all there is there, apart from a "big" town,
big if you lived in a hole in the ground maybe.
I crawled into the car dragging my feet behind me with every long step, this was it. The
end. The end of my life. The end of my life in London, or so I thought...
We hurried along the motorway with dad breaking every single speed limit and mum screaming
at him telling him to slow down because of me. Me? I was fine with it, we all knew that.
It was Shrewsbury that scared me. I knew why we had to go, just the day before my friend
had died of the disease, the disease with the no known cure. The disease that the troops
had brought back with from the Third World War, we might have won that war but we were
losing this one.
"Ena" Someone whispered my name.
"Ena!" This time faster and more worried. I must have drifted off, in the car. Great.
"ENA!" It was as if a scream was hiding behind the mask of a whisper.
I opened my eyes and ssaw why my mother was screaming my name with the last gulp of air
she would ever take. They had found us. London was supposed to blocked off, but we tried.
We nearly. Escaped. It was death to try, and here we were trying. My two old soft parents
and me, the one.
I didn't need to be told. I opened the door. I ran, and ran. In the background a shout.
"Ena, never forget. Please? WE LOVE YOU!" Was being shouted over and over again, until...
a gun fired. Silence. The tyres burning. The end. The end of their lives.
There were woods ahead, I knew I had to get there for it starting to rain... but. What
Now I'm sitting here, in the woods my own Sherwood Forest. Writing this in the notebook he
gave me, I've never written before but I know I have to record this. Even if it's just so
that people know who I was when they discover my body in the dark. If they ever come here
