well its not a myth (falsehood) in the sense that many babies are born with a higher
percentage of body fat. after all they haven't had a chance to develop their muscles while
in gestation so that's only natural.

The natural and healthiest situation is to gradually reduce this fat percentage as the
baby-infant-child grows and becomes more and more active. Unless the situation is
involving poor nutrition, lack of exercise or some other health problem, a person should
reach a "genetically natural" state of body fat percentage. For some they may be very lean
due to their genes and for others they may be persons who have a little extra padding.

Most of the time when a person talks about a healthy individual having baby fat what they
SHOULD mean is that the person is one of those people whose natural state is to have a
little extra fatty tissue, perhaps in the cheek or jowel areas (big cheeks) or in other
areas of the body. Some of these may never, surgery excepted, be able to reduce these
natural areas.

Unfortunately, too often what people mean is an "excuse" for a person being overweight or
even obese when they say someone has baby fat. When the term is used like this, then yes,
as you say its sort of a falsehood and nothing more than a euphemistic way of describing

well, it depends... If you look like you are carrying a bit extra and you are a baby,
then sure, but if you are like 6 or 7, you shouldn't have baby fat, cause you should be
running around all of the time...
