Hail followed Arionna and Naunie to a grand building. He had to admit that it was
good.... For a Light Being. Guards nodded at them as they walked passed them. They all
gave Hail a strange look. He stepped closer to Arionna and leaned in. "Why is everyone
looking at me like I killed someone?" He had to play this humble man persona but secretly
he was curious as to why everyone distrusted him so much at first glance.

Arionna gave him an apologetic look.
"Well.... you just look.. eh..." Her face grew hot or a moment.
"It's obvious your not an elf.... yet you have the... looks of one..." She ducked
her head awkwardly, than glaring at the next gaurd who passed by, making him grimace and
turn away.

Naunie led them up into the right tower of the castle, the Royal chambers, and paused at
her own door.
"You know how to get to your room Arionna. If I come out and see you anywhere alse you can
be sure that tomorrow your training will be so vigourous you'll be sore for weeks." With
that she stepped in, slambing her door behind her.

Arionna winced.
"What about Hail?!" She cried through the door with no answer. Grumbling she crossed her
arms and thought of what to do.
"I suppose I'll just have to get one of the servants to find you a room.... It might not
be in the best condition, but I'll have to do..." She grimaced.
"Sorry about all of this. Everyones been on edge lately with those attacks and such." She
smiled dismissively.
"Honestly I think we have nothing to worry about. My Uncle is smart, and he rules well. If
something happens, He'll take care of it, I'm sure." She laughed cheerfully, already
heading down the hallway to ring the bell that hung from the far wall, summening a
servant.
One was up in a moment.
"Please prepare a room for our guest, he is to be treated with hospitality, do you
understand?" She said with an aura of power. The servant curtsied.
"Yes M'Lady" Satisfied, Arionna turned and gave Hail a reasurring smile.
"It'll be alright now! Just follow Elvie!"
Turning away she dropped her smile and began to grumble until reaching the small set of
winding stairs that would lead her to her room.

As soon as Arionna was out of sight, the servant gave Heil a frightened look, and
scampered down the hall, glacing back cautiously to be sure he was following.

Hail looked after Arionna while she left and turned back to the frightened servant. He
followed her with grace and a chilling silence in every step. Soon they came to a room and
she gave an awkward curtise.
"H-Here's you room, sir." And before Hail could even mutter a thank you she ran off.
Light Beings were such fascinating creatures. He opened the door to the room to
find just what he expected to find. A large king size bed with a white canopy hung from
it's frame. Sitting next to it was a white night stand with a candle sitting upon it. The
wardrobe was large and sat by the far wall, looming over everything in the room. A couch
and a table sat in the other corner of the room. What caught Hail's eyes though was the
balcony outside. He walked over and opened the two big white double doors and was met with
a chilling breeze. He slowly walked over to the railing and placed both hands ontop of it.
This all reminded him of home. Not the kingdom that he now ruled but his actual home;
where he was created.
It was a place in hell actually. Not that far deep. When he was younger he always thought
that the lower place you were created the more evil you are. Well, who's impersanating
a Light Being and fooling the Elven Princess? It was quiet. So quiet his mind started
to wander back to a night at home.

He was very young and was doing his studies his mentor had assigned him. That is until he
got bored and went out to the balcony. The view was much like this one but more dazzling.
He had closed his eyes and let the warm air caress him. The moment did not last long
enough before a huge explosion happened just below with ear shattering screams following-

Hail stopped himself. Coming here was not going to be a trip down memory lane. But it was
too quiet to stay occupied. He closed the doors to the balcony and silently walked out of
the room. Curious to see what he would find here.

(Woops! I didn't see that you'd posted!) Naunie threw herself onto her soft bed, wishing to fall asleep immideatley, but wasn't able too. What a horrid day! She thought bitterly, and rolled over to stare at the white ceiling. What was the point of being the Royal protector if the Royals rufused to be protected?! Yawning, she sat up and released her bow from it's carrier on her back. Admiring it for awhile, she got up and placed it in it's holder. I guess I'll just try and relax. Grabbing a robe and some Elven inscents she opened her door and ound her way to the Royal washroom. ~~~ Arionna ploped onto her large canopy bed that took up almost half of the room, and grumbled into the nearest pillow. Geeze, spending the whole day in this stuffy room.... and than completely ignoring Hail.... I mean she's only 100 and... and... well however old she is, SHE'S NOT OLD ENOUGH!! Sitting up aggressivley she stomped outside to her balcony and peered down, wondering if she could pull off sneaking out from up there. ... with my luck I'd fall and break an arm...

Hail wandered aimlessly throughout the hallways. They were surprisingly clear of servants
or even dsust bunnies. They treat me as if I was the boogeyman. Which he was not
even close to resembling. He actually met the boogey man and, to Hail, he was an ugly
creature.
He went down a grand spiraling staircase and came across a large family portrait. It
consisted of two elven royals. One strong and defined man who had his arm around a very
beautiful and vibrant woman. They were both smiling. On the side of them though stood
another woman; the woman he saw before in the woods. The one who ran off. He had that
thing of familarity strike him again but ignored it. He passed the portrait and continued
to explore.

Turning on the bath water she slipped in and enjoyed about the only time Naunie had to
herself. Honestly, it was tuff being... well tuff all the time. She remembered back when
she could smile without worrying about Who'd see it.
Thinking of the past brought back memories she didn't want to think about.
Dancing, laughing, running, skipping...
The happiest time in her life. When she had someone to accept her. Had someone to love
her. Someone who broke through her rock hard destiny and filled her heart with warmth and
laughter.
And than fate just snatched him away. Naunie could feel the shameful tears sting at
the back of her eyes.
"Damn it all...." She whispered to herself.

~~~~~~~
 Arionna frowned at the distant ground below.
Okay now don't slip or you'll really be in trouble!
Biting her lip in concentration, she slowly made her way across the tiny ledge that
bordered her balcony. If she could make it to the other side, latching onto the climbing
vines would be simple, as would the climb down as long as they didn't brake.
Humph. Naunies' probubly gonna sit in her room for the rest of the day anyhow. She
underestimates me. Shifting farther to the right, she managed to make it to the other
side, and grab onto a vine.
Further walking down the halls he came across one of the biggest double doors he had ever
seen. Slowly he tried to open it but it wouldn't budge. "Damn, it's locked." He muttered
to himself. Growing annoyed he gathered his strength and broke the lock. It had made a
loud clinging sound that resonated throughout the palace. Carefully putting the lock in
his pocket he slowly made his way in. It was a library. All four walls were covered in
books of all kind. There were ladders and various floors to reach and examine each book.
Continueing to look around the room he saw a grand desk sitting in the middle of the room.
Walking closer he saw papers strewn all across it and an ink bottle with a white feather
in it's place. Curiousity getting the best of him he went around to the otherside to look
at the papers some more. At the bottom of the papers there was a stamp in red ink with a
design in it. Must be the king's seal.
One of the papers caught his eye and he carefully wrenched it out of the mass. It was an
order. A military order to send out some of their troops out of Ghidora. He looked down
the paper to see where and his anger rose. Hendridale His home town. His birth
place. They were going to destroy it. In a fit of anger he threw the paper down and
stomped out of the room. Before leaving he threw the lock at the wall sending a mass of
books falling to the ground.
Brushing away her hated tears she slipped under the water and closed her eyes, imagining
herself somewhere far away.
Hello Nei. A handsom man with dark shaggy brown hair that framed his face to his
neck stood before her, his smile bright and happy.
Hey Quin...
She was suddenly pulled out of her fantasy by the sound of thumps and crashes. Sitting up
fast she jumped from the tup and raced for the door, but stopped herself just in time.
I'm naked!  Glaring she threw the robe around herself and burst through the door,
her hair still dripping. Running with impressive spead she reached Arionnas' door and
brust inside.
She... she's not here.... oh God...
"ARIONNA!" She screamed, infuriated and scared to death all at the same time. The Balcony
doors were swinging freely on their hinges.
That BASTARD! He took her didn't he?!
Running to the balcony edge she searched franticly for any sign of movement. Seeing a
flash of gold near the ground she threw herself off, clenching her muscles to prepare for
the upcoming jolt below. On the way down her eyes widened.
'Ari-" She hit the ground hard and rolled a few feet. Her arms and legs trembled from the
hit.
Suddenly she heard a cry and a light Plop.
"NAUNIE!" A high pitched voice cried. Arionna ran to her side and grabbed her under an
arm, pulling Naunie upright.
"What were you thinking jumping from that high-"
"WHERE WERE YOU?! WHAT HAPPENED?! WHO TOOK YOU FROM YOUR ROOM?!" Naunie yelled and shook
the surprized child.
"Naunie nobody..."
"Don't protect him I know he did it!" Arionnas' face scrunched in confusion.
"What are you talking about? I climbed down the flower vines from my balcony since you
wouldn't let me out of my room.... sorry about that by the way.." She grumbled the last
part.
"I didn't think you'd catch me and freak out like this... you didn't have to jump.."
Naunies' face glared back at hers. Standing shakily, she clentched her fists and walked
toward the entrance to the palace.
"Naunie stop! You're hurt-"
"I have to find out the source of the noise."
"What noise?"
"There was a crash." Arionna stared at her, puzzled.
"Let me see what happened you go rest.."
"NO! I need to do my job." Leaving Arionna concerned and shamed, Naunie threw open the
castle doors, and headed to where she had heard the noise.
Hail stomped through the halls with anger in every step. Every one of his old and true
friends were still there. His mentor might still be there. The man  who raised and took
care of him like a son as the humans call it. He remembered the day he was taken from his
home in the middle of the night. They were recruiting for the Dark Military and they
admired Hail's strength and grace.
He remembered the smell of asphalt and burnt skin. The men who took him were dressed in
bloodied rags and spikes sticking out of their skin at every angle. Another men stood
behind them. He had his black hair falling down to his back and a billowy cape draped
behind him. His voice made Hail's blood run cold.
"Hello Hail Hesperus. My name is Aldrade." He stuck out his hand as if he expected Hail to
shake it. He then pulled it back. "I've been watching you." He continued, now starting to
walk around the room. "I've decided to recruit you into my army. Together we shall defeat
all of the Lights." Hail's eyes narrowed.
"I won't help you. I've been reading about them and the only ones doing any damage is us."
That apparently was the wrong thing to do since Aldrade's face contorted to one of anger.
"You shall not speak no such way!" He snapped at one of the creatures and it retreated
into the hallways. A second later Hail's mentor, Zachariah, was being dragged out.
"No!" Hail cried but was being held back by the other creature, one of it's spikes digging
into his skin. Aldrade smiled. "Help me and I will keep this old oaf alive." A sinister
smile appeared on his face. Turning to Zachariah he pulled out a knife and ran it through
his chest causing his mentor to let out a muffled cry. Hail tried struggling against the
creature but the pain from the spike was to great. Aldrade pulled the knife out and turned
back to Hail. "You refuse to help me I will make sure this demon suffers through the most
painful death any demon has ever imagined. Although, if you abide by my rules I will keep
him alive." He made a pause. "And your baby sister." Hail's heart stopped.
Aldrade gave out a laugh. "You honestly think she was lost? No. My men caught her
fratenizing with a Light. She's in the cages being prodded and tortured each and every
day." Hail felt a tear fall down his cheek. He hasn't seen his sister since she was
created. Hail loved her with all hs might. "If you join my army then not only will you
gain power and rank unimaginable but your sister and mentor will be kept alive. And I will
see to it myself." Hail had no choice. Right before he left with the demons he had one
final farewell with his mentor, his caretaker.
"Hail Hesperus. Over these last 600 years I have loved and cared for you more then anyone
else I have ever known." He placed his age old hand on Hail's shoulder. "Whatever you do,
whatever you must say, just remember that I will always be here waiting for your return.
With open arms." He pulled him in for one final hug, the last hug. "Goodbye, my son."
Reluctantly Hail left struggling against the tears.
Zachariah and his sister was still there. And there was no way in hell that he would let
any Light Army step foot in there. He raged down the hallways his skin burning with hate
and rage. Hate against Aldrade and his pitiful power. Hate against this whole war.
A servant walked up to him asking if he wanted a drink but Hail shoved her agasint the
wall. The sound of bones crunching resounded. He didn't even look back.
Naunie shuffled into the castle trying to still her shaking limbs. The force of the fall
had made her bones ache, thought she was sure nothing was broken. If she hadn't spied
Arionna hanging on a vine she could have kept her concentration and landed correctly, but
she did, and she wasn't about to let that stop her from doing what needed to be done.
Arionnas' quick footsteps approched her from behind.
"Get back to your room."
"No! You're not in charge of me and it's MY Palace so I have a right to deal with anything
that's gone wrong."
"It's not your kingdom yet foolish girl." She ignored the angrey huffs from behind her and
studied her memory of the noise.
It sounded as if coming from below, like something had been smashed or a few heavy things
had fell from somewhere high above.
The Library... the books. Her eyes narrowed as she picked up her spead.
The doors were locked, and the King is out tending to military business.... no servant
could get inside.
Unless it wasn't a servant, unless it was someone seeking to his study to have a look at
his plans.
"... that thing... it must have been him." Naunie grinded her teeth and picked up
her pace almost to a sprint. Arionna struggled to keep up behind her.
"What are you talking about Naunie?! I told you Hail isn't dangerous! A serevant must have
dropped something or-" Arionna gawked as she realized that Naunie was in a bathrobe.
"Naunie?! What are you doing with a bathrobe on?!" She cried, begining to run to catch up
with her.
"Would you of rather I ran out naked?" Arionna flushed with irritation.
"Of course not! But you could of at least.. at... least..." Naunie slowed, wondering why
the child has faded off.
"Naunie..." Her voice trembled and was almost a whisper. Rolling her eyes, Naunie stopped
and turned to see what had the child so upset.
She froze. Arionna had her arms wrapped around herself. She shook so forcefully Naunie
feared she would collapse.
Her bare feet were glistening red with... with blood.
"Naunie!" She ran forward and grabbed Arionna by her shoulders, yanking her away from the
large puddle of red, following it to see what had caused it.
Gasping she covered the childs eyes and bit her own lip.
"Oh God...." Before them lay a female servant, her skull crushed and caved in. Her full
eyes wide with shock, as if the attack had caught her off gaurd.
She didn't even have time to defend herself... This was bad... very bad... Naunie
cursed herself for unsheithing her bow before. She had nothing but her bare hands to
defend Arionna with. She glanced down at the child, furious that she had to see the sight
with innocent eyes.
"Calm down Arionna, everythings going to be fine." Her voice was calm and composed, though
she knew it was a lie.
Reaching out with her mind she screamed for Evangeline, for she was the strongest person
in the Kingdom at the moment. She didn't check to see if the Angel had gotton her cry for
help, for there wasn't time.
"Arionna promise me you won't cry out or scream. I have to get to my room for my Bow. I
can't protect you if you don't first protect yourself. I don't know what's here or who did
this..." She glared.
"...But I think I have an idea. You can't come with me, it's to dangerous. I don't know
where the danger is now, so listen to me very carefully. There is a closet a few hallways
down from here, you know of it. Now run to it and lock yourself inside until I come for
you. You know the spell." Arionna gazed at her with terrified eyes before turning and
taking of down the hall.
"Wait.... what about Hail... h-he needs to be warned..." Naunie closed her eyes at the
girls foolishness.
"... it will be alright." Naunie turned and began to swiftly make her way upstairs,
keeping her entire body alert, knowing that Arionna knew to listen.
Hail turned the corner and ended up down another corridor of doors and age old paintings
of ancestors adorning the walls. Hail didn't care about exploring anymore. Red tinted the
edge of his vision and heat scorched the carpet where he stepped. On a wall to his left a
mirror hung from a golden string. He slowed down to look within it. He saw a man that he
did not recgonize. It looked exactly like Hail but it wasn't the Hail that he knew. This
man had black eyes that seemed limitless and his pale blond hair looked white. It looked
like a monster.
Then he realized that this monster, this demon, was him. The monster inside him. The
monster he had tried so long to destroy and ignore is now back. The monster Aldrade had
created. Anger surged through him again and he impulsively punched the mirror into
shattered pieces of glass. Glass struck his hand and his black blood seeped onto the
floor. He watched as his Dark blood burned through the Light Beings carpet.
 A low growl emanated from his throat. More proof that he was a monster. He didn't deserve
anything remotely close to nice. He was just a monster that deserved to be in the deepest
pits of hell. How could Zachariah or even his sister care about anything so grotseque and
horrible? He stalked down the halls, speed growing in his step.
Naunie sliped down the halls as quickly and quietly as she could, avoiding all detours and
keeping to the safest way.
I need my damn bow!
Finding the doors to her room she quietly turned the doorknob and rushed in, not even
considering the idea of changing, or there wasn't time and the entire palace was
vunerable.
Unless I warn the gaurds before that thing can do anymore harm. Snatching her bow
from it's holder she gritted her teeth.
This is what I've been training for. This is my destiney.
Running from the room she raced down the hall, knowing full well that if she wanted to
attract the monster, it should be to herself, and away from Arionna or anyone else.
Purposley she made her feet land forcefully with every move she made. She ran as fast as
her feet would carry her to the throne room where she knew full well a gaurd would be.
Throwing the doors open she stomped inside.
"Sound the alarm! The palace is under attack!" She cried or the entire hall to hear.
And hopefully that thing. With a single frightened nodd the gaurd rushed from it's
post to inform the others and get the servants to safty.
But I'll find him before they do. She knew without a doubt that she would find this
being of darkness and kill it, or die trying.
For Arionna and the throne.
~~~~~~

Arionna scrambled down the halls, hot tears rolling down her cheeks, yet she managed to
keep her screams inside.
GLINDA! SHE JUST HAD A BABY! WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO HER BABY?! WHO WOULD DO SUCH A
HORRIBLE THING?!
Smothering a choke she managed to reach the last turn of the hallway when she froze in
place, hearing a low growl echo through the large wing.
What...... what was that..... Arionna slapped a hand to her mouth to keep from
crying out in fear.
The monster that killed Glinda is close....what... what do I do...?! Hopeing she
would have enough energy to cast the locking spell, she whispered a few words and made her
body change with the colors around her, blending in, or attempting to.
It shouldn't be able to see me like this.... but... how long can I keep it up?
Though her body was hidden, her bare feet she realized were leaving bright red footprints
wherever her feet planted themselves.
Oh God.... what do I do.... Realizing it was pointless to waste her energy on a
futile attempt to stay hidden, she let her spell brake and proceeded to walk silently down
the large hall. Her feet made a sticky sound whenever she brought them up for another
step. It made her queezy and it was all she could do to keep from vomiting.
I have... her blood on my feet..... her blood.... She was listening so hard that
she could hear her tears drip on the floor.
The closet... it's so close...

Hail kept walking down the hallway but came face to face with a group of guards on the
run. As soon as they saw him they came after him. The monster inside him smiled. One guard
tried faking to the right and sneak to the left but Hail was faster. He met him on the
left and kicked his face in hearing his skull crush within itself. Another grabbed a
handful of knives and started to throw. Gracefully Hail dodge each on. Quickly grabbing
one out of midair he brought it down with brute force into the guards mouth causing spurts
of blood to shoot out. He tried to scream but Hail still held the knife in it's place and
all that came out was a gurgled sound. The last guard ran up behind him and pulled him off
the guard. Easily landing on his feet Hail started towards the guard but swerved to the
right a bit. Bringing out his hand he saw his nails sharpened and grew to a razor sharp
point. Hail brought it up and slashed through the guards stomach. His organs and blood
seeped out and fell on the floor, staining the white carpets red. The guard, too surprised
to scream, fell to the ground.

Hail lingered for a few seconds on the floor then stood up. The monster inside him
screamed and moaned in delight but Hail felt like dying. His mentor's voice resounded in
his head. The loss of one in the line of duty is a loss indead. Always mourn the dead.
Even Lights. Carefully Hail dragged all three guards in a line on the floor. He moved
their hands on their chests like a corpse in a funeral home. He closed each of their eyes
with care. "May your soul find peace." He whispered. Then the monster came back.
Enough of this. Hail stood up and continued on down the halls.

Naunie hurried down the halls, her steps purposful and unregreted. Unafriad.
If only I knew where it was. It must be downstairs but where?!
Decending the royal stairs that led to the throne room she let her feet echo through the
large room, and growled when she heard a commotion somewhere in the right wing.
Come to ME dammit! With rage she took off towards the wing with futile hopes
of reaching the scene before it was too late. Her heart skipped a beat when she remembered
that Arionna was in this wing.
Please.... God please let her have listened to me.....
~~~~~~~
With every step Arionna grew more frightened. Every sound made her jump, and once she
heard a loud clang echo through the halls she let out a tiny cry.
What....? A few smothered screams followed the sound, as well as strange ripping
sound. Her eyes went glassy as she realized what was going on.
Naunie.... she must have told the gaurds... but.... it's so close to me... She
tried with difficulty to find one brave bone in her body, but at the moment she felt as if
she was a porcelain doll, ready to shatter at any moment.
My people.... they are dying to protect the palace... to protect me... She felt her
chest begin to ache, and no longer noticed her tear stained cheaks.
Their sacrafices will not be in vain... I will not die today.... I must not die
today.... Though from somewhere inside her she found the courage to keep walking
instead of rolling into a ball and whimpering, her body continued to shake, and her eyes
franticly searched for any kind of movement.
Finally she could see the closet only a few feet away. With desperation she picked up her
pace and turned the handle, opening it and ignoring the musty smell that emerged.
I... I made it.... Yet... she did not want to go inside. No matter how hard she
tried, she could not bring herself to lock herself away while the entire palace was
slautered by some monster.
And what about Hail.... he isn't informed... he could be scared... With determined
eyes she quietly closed the door and took a deep breath.
I will not die today, and no one else will if I can help it.
