Hey! This is just the beginning, but tell me what you think!

“Lacey Smell!” yelled my dad. Yeah, you know me. I just wrote a whole 20
page story about a summer a few years ago. Well, these days it is totally different. I am
now 17 years old, and I am well different. Where did I leave off? Oh, right everything was
perfect! Nikkie and I were still friends, Tommy and I was still boyfriend girlfriend, and
Massie was so sweet. Not anymore! Things have changed, and now it is around Christmas
time. “Lacey if you don’t help I swear to god…”
“Yeah, I know you won’t buy me any gifts,” I said while walking down the stairs
wearing one of my favorite outfits. It is just black.
	“What are you wearing?”
“Put on that blue dress I brought you, because we are going to the neighbor’s house
to celebrate Christmas early!” I groan. I totally forgot about it.
“Dad do I have to go?”
“Of course.” Well, I just gave up right there. I grabbed the dress that I left on the
couch, and ran upstairs to change. I put on the blue dress. It was strapless, and went
just past my butt. Great a strapless and a mini, and I was going to see my ex boyfriend! I
grabbed my blue boots, and walked slowly downstairs.

Here is a little more:

“Let’s go!” yelled my dad. He grabbed my coat and threw it at me.
“Put it on!”
“’Kay!” I said while putting it on. My dad was already walking to the neighbors
when I close the door. He rang the bell right when I got there.
“Don’t be…” started my dad, but he couldn’t finish, because Mrs. Flowers
answered the door.
“Mr. Smell and Lacey do come in!” she said while opening the door wide for us. I
walked in and I caught Tommy’s eye. My dad took off his coat, and held out his hands for
mine. I gave him my coat. I walked in the living room to find Tommy and Nikkie kissing.
Yeah, they got together after Tommy and I broke up. I did get pissed at her for doing
that, but that’s not the reason why we aren’t friends. Tommy then looked at me seeing
what I was wearing. He must have been interested, because he stopped kissing Nikkie, and
really looked at me. I just turned around, and went in the kitchen. I heard Nikkie and
Tommy talk to each other.
“That is your ex not your girlfriend!”
“No buts!” Then they went back to kissing. I got bored, and started to go upstairs.
No one heard me or saw me, because all the adults were too busy talking to each other, and
the teens were making out. I remembered the day I first went and saw Tommy’s room. I
still had my cast on then, but I remembered it. It was kind of like my room, but it was
green. It also had a window close to the ground. I couldn’t grab my coat, but at least I
could run, and be inside my house. Then I heard footsteps behind me, and I almost made it
to the room, too. I turned around, and it was Tommy.
“I thought I heard you up here,” he said. God! Tommy did know me too well.
“Yeah sure you did,” I said.
“Come on! Can’t you just cut the crap already?” What crap? I mean I don’t have
any friends anymore, but I am still nice when I want to me.
“You don’t have any friends, you dress in all black, and you most like hate
everyone!” said Tommy.
	“I am not wearing black.”
“Most of the time you are.”
“Yeah, well I got to go. Bye!” I said while running in his room and opening the
window, but he grabbed my arm. The left arm…the one that broke, and it was still score
from the last time I broke it!
	“That hurts,” I said.
“I know. You told me that.”
	“Well, let go!”
“No, not until you walk away from the window.”
“You can’t tell me what to do!” I said while pulling my arm away from his grip, and
I almost fell through the window, but again something caught me.
“Lacey,” he said, “just promise me something.”
“Fine, as long as you let go of me.”
“Tell me you will be careful.”
“Fine, I will be careful.” Then he let go of me and went back downstairs.

Here is more that I just typed up:

“Fine, I will be careful.” Then he let go of me and went back
downstairs. I just sat there thinking. I mean who come he wants me to be careful. Anyways,
I looked down and saw the fall. I decided that it wouldn’t be safe or careful. I just
climbed out of the window, and went back downstairs. I heard a lot of laughing, and saw
that everyone was in the dinning room eating dinner. I grabbed a plate and put some turkey
on it. At the corner of my eye I saw Tommy smile at me. I guess it was, because I chose
not to jump out of the window. Then he got up, and went for seconds while I was still at
the table debating weather to get jello or cake.
“The cake is better,” I heard Tommy say to me. I decided to go with the jello. Then I
sat down right next to my dad. I started eating, but also listening to the small talk.
“So Lacey I heard that you were not going to college. Is that true?” asked Mrs.
Flowers. I mean what the heck? Why was she is my business? I have thought about it, and I
didn’t really want to go to college, but I did apply to some of them. My dad turned to
me. Oh, right I didn’t tell him this.
“Well, I don’t know yet. I mean I applied to some of them, but I don’t know if I
really want to go,” I said.
“What do you mean?” asked my dad. Great!
“Well…I just don’t know if I want to go. Besides college can be boring just like
school, and I already have to go to that.” My dad gave me a look.
“You are going to college, and that’s final!” said my dad, and I didn’t talk
anymore after that. In fact all the adults and the teens didn’t really talk much after
my dad’s outburst.

I just typed this up, but it kinda ends at a cliff hanger:

“You are going to college, and that’s final!” said my dad, and I
didn’t talk anymore after that. In fact all the adults and the teens didn’t really
talk much after my dad’s outburst. After dinner the adults went back to talking, and the
teens went back into the other room, but this time they were actually talking. I walked
into the room and sat down.
“So…Lacey why you don’t want to go to college?” asked Nikkie. Crap! She was on to
me again. I only told her the truth. I mean me saying that it was just like school was one
of my reasons, but not my main one.
“I already told everyone,” I said. She smirked.
“Come on, both of us know that’s not the truth.” Everyone stopped with there talk
and turned to me.
“You don’t know me anymore!” I yelled, and ran to the front door. I grabbed my
coat, and walked home without it on. Now I was safe. Then I heard my cell phone ring. It
was my dad. I answered it.
“I am home, and I am not going back!” I said, and hung up on him. I decided to burn
this dress when I got the time to. I ran upstairs to get changed, but I noticed something
wasn’t right. It was my room. It was clean, but that’s not what I notice right away.
There was a little Christmas tree in my room. I decided it wasn’t my dad, because he was
at the party. It had to be someone I knew. I walked towards it, and there was a note
there. I opened it, and all it said was Merry Christmas. This is totally not my dad. He
would put honey or sweetie or even Lacey at the top. It was a nice touch to my room, but I
knew I couldn’t keep it, because my dad would ask me what it was doing there. I decided
to put it in my closet. Then I heard the door open.
	“Lacey!” yelled my dad.
“I am just up here!” I yelled back.
“Here are your gifts some the neighbors.”
	“Don’t ever do that again!”
	“Fine I won’t.”
“I am going to go back, but you can stay.”
“OK!” Then he left. I opened the first one. It was wrapped with Christmas trees on
it. It didn’t have a name on it, though. I opened it. It had just a note inside of it.
The note said:
“If you can find who I am you will get your real gift. Three clues to help you:
	1. I was at the party.
	2. You do know me.
	3. This was not your dad.”
That was it! Those aren’t even good clues! I decide not to open the rest, but go to the
ski lodge. I mean I am pretty bored, and skiing is fun. I texted my dad telling him that I
will be at the ski lodge. I walked all the way there, and then I started skiing. I will
admit it hasn’t been the same without Tommy or Nikkie, but it was still fun. Then I saw
Massie. Do you remember at the end of the last book I said she was sweet? Well, she
isn’t anymore.
	“Oh, shut up!”
“I don’t know how,” she said.
“Well, you will in a second.”
“Hey, Lacey,” said a boy from my school named Jake. Jake was nice, and a pretty good
skier, but he was popular and known for not talking to anyone but his friends.
“Hi Jake,” I said, and then Massie ran off.
