Mrs. Hartford's Music Class

Kiku was awake, rarely and somehow, but awake to the music around him. He sat on a black stool in front of the piano, his gentle hands running across the keys, smiling in pure joy at the lovely sound. Still tired, but awake, he rested his head on his arm that rested against the side as he set the lever down, the keys hidden under a top. He then rested against that, closing his eyes. He did not know when he would wake up, or how he would wake up, it could be days until someone found him. But he didn't mind, he loved to sleep. It was the only way to get away from life as it is.

Ellie ran into the classroom with a stack of freshly printed, blank sheet music in her arms. She had been running errands for Mrs. Hartford who didn't have a class at this time. Ellie, too busy to notice that someone else was in the classroom, looked around the room for something in particular. "Where is it? Where is it? Where is that thing!" She began to mumble to herself, it was quiet but still audible. "I could have sworn I saw it! Didn't she say it was over here?" Ellie sat down at the teachers desk and groaned before also giving a heavy sigh. She stood back up and took a few steps over to a filing cabinet. She opened the drawer that was labeled "Blank Sheet Music" and dropped the stack of papers into a folder before closing the drawer back up.

Kiku opened his eyes, letting them roll around in his eye sockets. He heard something, a person running through the room doing something. Maybe he was just too tired, imagining something like a person in the empty room in which he was only in. Kiku almost didnt want to look up, to see what was there. Was he going to be robbed? Was it a janitor? A teacher? Student? He doubted it was a student, there werent many that actually liked music just as he did. But, he got up and turned silently, as if not making a noise, and looked over. His vision got better, waking him up and all. It was a girl, pink hair, but he did not remember her face or name, he never did to anyone else, except for his sister of course. He rubbed his head, then rubbed his eyes and looked back to the girl, narrowed eyes. "Uh.... ma'am?"

Ellie jumped up as she heard a voice from behind her. She turned around to see the boy that had spoken. "Oh! I'm so sorry, I didn't think anyone was in here!" She stared at him with wide eyes. "I'm not bothering you am I? I was just running an errand for Mrs. Hartford... I won't be bothering you anymore! Sorry!" Ellie turned back around to find what she had been looking for earlier.

Kiku stood dumbfounded, smiling, but still tired and trying to take everything in. Bothered? Hm, no not really. Bored? Yes, highly. He shook his head to the girl, though in his mind, he was searching for her name. He's seen her before, perhaps. Maybe just because they were going to the same school, duh, but something else. He remembered going over a list once for a teacher, and names filled his head. "Ellie... your name is Ellie? What are you looking for?"

Yuki slunk round the door music eminniting audibly from the headphones she wore jammed
over her hears, her violin case slung casually over her right shoulder. Quietly so as not
to disturb the two already there she headed off to one of the desks, popped open the case
and began tightening up her bow humming softly along with her music.

Ellie stumbled around the teachers desk. "Yes, I'm Ellie..." She spoke softly, making sure she looked at the boy as she spoke to him yet at the same time, still trying to rummage through the things on the desk. Since the boy knew her name, she must have known his. She tried to match his face with a name. It took her a while but she managed to remember his name. "And you're Kiko?" She spoke but made it sound more like a question "I'm looking for the attendance sheets. I was supposed to make copies of them before the class started..." She then noticed another person walk into the room as music emitted from the person's headphones. "Oh, um, hello..." Ellie tried to greet the person but her greeting ended up being too soft and quiet for the person to hear, especially since the person was listening to music.

Putting down her bow Yuki turnd off her music, removed her headphones and looked up at
Ellie and Kiku as she lifted her violin up onto her shoulder,"you don't mind....?" she
asked gesturing to the violin with her head. She knocked the lid on the violin case closed
and lifted her bow waiting the go ahead to play.

Kiku dropped his head lightly, although he should of guessed with such a strange name that not many people remembered. Usually, his sister was the one he only talked to, he seemed too... reserved to himself. "It's... Kiku." He corrected her, feeling bad afterwards but listening to her speak anyway. "Oh the papers? Their on top of the music book shelf," Kiku pointed to the other side of the room where the bookshelf was. "That's where the teacher left them." His voice trailed and he glanced over to the other girl, he didn't have choice in what he said, it was the music room after all. "Go ahead.."

"You do have a choice you know, I can move to a different classroom if you want, I just
came here because this is where the acoustics are best. So, would you mind if I stay here
and play, because I can move." Said Yuki pearing out from beneath her fringe.

He opened the door and said "hope I'm not to late...well...I'm going practice playing the
piano and later the guitar".He sat on a chair looking at notes to a song.He said to
himself "I love playing the piano when I was little listening to the melody.I remember my
dad taught me He was professional at piano and guitar.I love him so much I wish he never
died.I remember crying about him all the time ,but playing the piano and guitar help me
think think of the good time we spend together. It helps me not think of the bad
memories of my past.I use to being alone all the time.Without no father I love him so
much.He really important to me why did he have to died last year.Mom always said you are
much like father and son a bond that will never be broken".Brace played the piano a little
bit holding back his tears.

Yuki sighed and put her violin and bow back in the case and snapped it shut with a sharp
click, "You know what, it's okay I can find somewhere else." she with a slight smile that
didn't quite reach her eyes, "enjoy your day," she slipped quietly out the door and down
the hall.
