So I now have 2 protected photos, and all the rest private.

This is my view of my page. {Not to scale. ^^}

I can see the photos obviously, because they are mine.

If I log out, or use an alt account, I cannot see the photos, for obvious reasons. But
I cannot tell that Lyncheh has photos AT ALL. It looks like she doesn't have any,
protected or otherwise. The picstream box is not there.

I don't want it to look like I don't have photos at ALL, I just don't want EVERYONE
looking at them. I want people to be able to see that I have photos and apply to see them.
(I know you can all see a small version of my photos up there, lawl. But oh well.)

Couldn't it be like this? Not artistic at all, just a rough idea.

Or maybe I have it wrong and it's like this already. Let me know what you think.
This has taken ages to post. Sloooow Kupika.

Oh. Erm, private you can't send requests and nobody except you can see the photo, so that
isn't what I want.

I was curious, sure; but, it's your prerogative and I respect it.

Now that you gave us a peek, I must say, the photos are you are quite good. Also, you
have great eyes!

BTW, over the weekend, I met 3 people from England. They came to America (arrived on
Thurs, leaving Mon) just for the weekend's convention. I was totally amused by their
accent. XD

Ok, now the protected photos are there. Ideally the photos would be visible to those who
already got permission, but that'd put more processing on the server.

That's protected photos. As for private photos, only you know their existence. Other people won't even know they exist.

I can appreciate why people want their photos private... too many boneheads out there
who feel the need to 'contribute' useless, stupid and insulting comments in order to make
themselves sound intellegent. I think there are way too many mentally immature people on
kup for my taste.

I just like the idea of people having an image in their head of what I look like and then
going WHAT THE HELL, DIDN'T PICTURE YOU LIKE THAT. It amuses me.

ok ive got a comment/question/suggestion..

do you have to request permission for EACH and every protected pic of your friends?
it seems like a tedious process to go through this whole cookie exchange for every
pic.....humorously so actually

...cant there just be a "Picture Allowed Friends List" kind of deal where we just put
their name on it, like we do our friends list.... then when they request to see a
protected pic....then the system will grant them access to it..and if they arent in that
list then they dont pass the velvet rope..

Adn then its just a matter any time of asking your friends to put you into the In-Crowd
Picture Allowed List/whether to do that in a button/link or message whatever is easiest
doesnt matter much..

that way too, as the user we only have to update, modify that list to grant blanket access
to our protected pics to certain people/friends....and can make one change by deleting
them from the list whenever we want...

Wouldnt that work better all the way around?

Once you have approval, you can see the entire album.

ok i just saw that..

now tell me how do you REMOVE approval? or make it so that that person doesnt have rights
anymore or does it expire when they log out?

obviously people have falling outs or change who they want to be friends with *looks
around the room* :-(

......i think it would be so much easier to have a "protected pic permission list" that
can be edited like we do our friends list..

and for the system to do a simple true false check against one's list...

this way too we can proactively give access to our friends in advance too...as well as
remove the permission..
