Hallo guys, we're a nice club and all, but we're missing something. Can you guess? How about now? If you need a hint, feel free to look at the title! Contests have been in the planning for the past couple of days, but not to any outcomes. Other than the obvious writing contest, we think maybe we should do a member referral contest, whoever gets the most people wins 10-20 kupipoints and a pretty little badge to go on their signature. What do you think about that? Would people actually participate, do you think? Writing contests need some plans, too. We want to surprise you guys, but not without knowing what you want to do first! You all write differently, I already know, what sort of challenges do you want to try? What would you absolutely love, absolutely despise, be indifferent about, any little thing you post will be taken into heavy consideration. C: What do you think would be a fair prize? Should there be first, second, third... twenty-fifth? How long should the deadline be? Should there be word counts? Anything! Be creative, contests that are different from all others are what we want to set up and run. EDIT: On another note, sorry for not being as active as I want to be. I'm noticing people posting three times as much as me already! The reason I haven't updated the club page, posted more, etc. is because I've been ill, but now that I'm finally begun to get better again I can be on more, posting more than ever! OuO

It's okay. I can give you the club, though!

Sorry for my iPod being non-council friendly.

And, I think it's a good idea. I can give a code so we can all give links equally.

On writing contests: I think there should be a general word count. A story shouldn't be
too short, or else it's just 2 paragraphs. But it shouldn't be too long where it's a whole
series. So what I'm really sayin' is, don't post something like: "Word count is no more
than 1,000 words!" Make it more general. :D

I rather like the idea of having contests for the club I think writing contests should be broken down. Maybe something like: General Writing Contest Romanic Writing Contest Write a Story with _____ In It Write a Story with the Title _____.. And so on!

Mackie: Thanks! I sent my request now. We can go over official stuff in there!

Epoch: You have good ideas. I'm copying and pasting that somewhere else too so I don't
forget it.

Possible: I think it would be an important part too.
Yeah, stuff like that. We can even go further, like one of us writing something and them
finishing it, or what other awesome thing crosses our minds.

I think word count is a good idea, but since I'm not great at the computer and I don't
know how to get word count up, It'd be a bit of a pain for me to sit there and count all
the words I've written. I also think that if you are going to do contests, are you going
to make them mandatory? Or not. I'd prefer not but I wouldn't really mind. Oh and maybe
the contests should have a deadline. Maybe one that is a few weeks from when you post it
since you don't want to be waiting forever for someone to enter their story, who signed up
for part of the contest in the first place

Poison; Just googe 'word counters' or something similiar. You'll find one that's simple
^^

I love the idea of contests! I think a deadline would be needed. And I like the idea of
having different kinds of writing contests like 'science fiction, romance, poetry, etc' so
we can all write with what we're best at :3

Thank you for complimenting my good ideas. xP

If you have Microsoft Word or something similar, you can copy/paste your story into it,
then check the word count.

I agree with this, although maybe we could go a little deeper into detail with contest ideas? Just a thought.

Possible; That could be really fun! Or we could do one of those stories where one person
writes a scentence and whatever word/letter that scentence ends with the next person
starts with. That could be a good group assignment. And maybe something really specific,
like, 'has to include [object], [kind of person], [place].' Just some ideas ^^

And maybe we could have judges that can't participate, but choose their favorites and those who win get some kind of prize?

Yes, that sounds like a great idea. We could either use people who feel they'd rather not
participate/don't want to for the judges and everyone in the council could 'chip in' for
the prizes, regardless if they are participating or not. Sound good? :3

For more specific contest ideas, you could always go to figment.com for ideas. They have
some pretty cool contests; such as a Fable contest, utopian, runaway, ect...if you look,
you'll see what I mean. :D

I'm not sure if all council members will agree with this, as some may not have the required KP (if we do a KP/VI prize.). Although maybe we could..I don't know, make them something? I'll try to have a word with the owner.

To anyone reading this, this girl knows what she's talking about. This website is seriously useful.

Possible, yeah. Perhaps a 'You get to choose the next contest' prize, or art? Or, just
the council members who are willing/can donate kp/vi? We could also do 'thumbs up' on
their profile or give hugs.
