"I'm not crazy." Odette McClain was lying on her back on the officer's brown
leather couch, one barefoot hanging off the arm of the chair and the other tapping against
the floor. The black Ouija board decorated dress she was wearing probably wasn't helping.
Odette tucked a piece of white hair behind her ear, "My aunt worries too much. I don't
think she likes me very much."

"Just because you were recommended to me doesn't mean you're crazy." said Doctor Mott, crossing his legs and leaning back. He had a recording of the conversation going; however, he was doodling on a note pad with a sleek, silver fountain pen just to keep up appearances. "You can talk to me for any problem you're having, not just mentally."

"Oh, here it comes." Odette rolled her eyes. "The whole commercial. I've heard it
all before, doc. I'm here to help. You can talk to me. I won't judge you. You're not my
first shrink."

"I see. Now, why does your aunt think that you need one? Just answer me that. You don't have to talk if you don't want to, that's not what I'm here for." said Joe. His lunch, a sandwich from the local deli and a soda in a glass bottle, was sitting inside the stainless steel minifridge that was pushed into the corner of the room, by his desk. He could smell the proscuitto from here, which was disheartening. It meant that he was going to have to change first, before he hurt someone.

"The same reason she thinks I need to be on medication. Or the same reason she
locks her bedroom door at night." Odette said with a shrug. "She thinks Oli and I are
totally fucked. The devil's spawn or some shit like that."

"And why does she think that?" asked the doctor, looking nonchalant. Disinterested. His yellow eyes darted about the room, partially out of bordeom and partially...did the room just get warmer? He felt too big for his skin. He might just cut the sessions short today.

"Because that's what my mom said when she killed herself." The words fell a little
too casually from her black colored lips. Odette had been eleven when she found her mother
hanging from a beam in their attic. She'd spent two days locked in her bedroom, sobbing
into Oli's chest before they found their mother's suicide not. She couldn't live with
herself knowing her children where born "Of an evil force"

Now they were getting to the brunt of it! "You think you were the reason your mother killed herself?" He asked, making her repeat herself just so she could hear herself say it. That was utterly... well, inconceivable.

"That's what her suicide note said." Odette couldn't really blame her mother. The
woman had it pretty rough. "Something about deserving punishment for bringing evil into
the world or some shit like that. Burning in flames. Oh speaking of flames Aunt Claire
also thinks we set my dad onn fire."
