Barely enough to hang on? did that mean anything at all in the grand scheme of things? With eyes glazed over by his own thoughts; uncontrolled unbiased, delving into anything and everything without a hint of pause or regret. Aren't you already lost, when all you have is barley enough to hang on?...how do you define barley enough, in millimeters, pounds, ounces? And isn't one per4sons perception of such a things different from another's? The eyes staring out at the world from a nice featured face blinked once, and for a moment the compelling and glazed orbs were covered by thin lids; lashes wishing to touch his cheeks. He kept them closed breathing in the clean and natural air, that was untainted by pollution, this high into the hills; where the scent of snow covered pine soothed him like nothing else in the world. Finally, after what seemed like forever he opened his eyes and once more returned his troubled gaze to the world once more looking off the cliff where he had parked to the forest below, that sprawled for miles, untamed, unconquered, free. If someone, anyone had been watching him, they would have wondered what a boy like him was doing, this far from civilization, where a cell phone was useless and nothing remotely civilized could be seen for miles. This second hypothetical person, would wonder why a young man dressed in top of the line jeans and a brand name jacket would be sitting on his fancy spots car all alone, with his breath showing in the air and a cold tinge of pink forming on his cheeks. If this person had existed, they would only have needed to ask Chance, for he would have gladly answered, he was getting away from it all. He was fleeing the lies, the stress and most of all he was fleeing from something he could not identify, but somehow, he had a growing sense of dread that this third thing was something in him..something he could never escape. Chance let out a sigh, imaging that the simple noise carried over the land scape and to the ears of some bird of prey sparking in the creature the same emotion he felt at the time: apathy. He did not know why he felt this way, really it was a mystery and according to everyone he should feel the furthest thing away from indifferent. A harsh chuckle devoid of mirth and joy left his mouth at the thought. He knew what they all thought of him he was practically a god, worshiped for the fortune in his life. It was such a joke, which is why he was once again sitting on the hood of his car in the middle of no where pondering things, that would make most peoples heads hurt. If you have everything and you are for want of nothing then do you only have barely enough compared to others? Chance sighed and cursed in frustration, taking hold of his head in his freezing hands wishing the answers he was looking for would come to him, and yet at the same time pushing them away for fear that he would not like what he would be shown. Really it was quite a conundrum....

It would always consume some kind of painless time to do what was best done, but it wasn't like words like 'I have something else better to do than this' could ever be uttered out. Such a phrase was nonexistant to certain tongues and could never be spoken about, unless it were a liar of course. Sometimes this meant going through some kind of hell though, just because that wasn't possible; to be able to have something else to do. It was like fishing, just with more entertainment than such a matter. Fishing could never be nearly as fun but would probably have better rewards at the end for all the patience than such a thing like this. With all this rambling, the bottomeline would just now arrive; Chance didn't even necessarily travel alone. The entire time, he wasn't technically alone. Most would've stopped once their 'victim' was pulling off in their car, such a fancy one at that too, but again... There was nothing else better to do but lounge about all day in squalid places and pick at things randomly on the ground. Following this guy seemed like a much more interesting idea. And Nam-kyu took that right up. In comparison to time frames, it took quite a bit longer for the sharp-teethed boy to reach an acceptable area to the other. The 'victim' had settled near the cliff, but his automobile no where in sight. Which was all good, very good. Nam-kyu watched this guy for a moment, seeing as his faze would seem to vaguely drift yet he must've been thinking quite a lot to be honest. The Korean wondered if it was in poor choice to have decided with this route; this guy didn't seem to do much, and it was freezing here - his body wasn't exactly frozen-proof, that was for sure, and already he was losing some feeling in his fingers. He didn't dress for this; white T-shirt with black designs on it and light blue tight jeans that were actually somewhat lose on him causing him the trouble of having to pull them back up every now and then. The only part of him that felt warm enough to suffice this kind of weather were his forearms - covered with bracelets of all sorts. But other than that, this didn't seem to be quite the place. Even Gippeum, the large African centipede who was currently curled up on his left shoulder, strongly disagreed with this and moved slightly in almost a coaxing mannerism. He ignored the centipede though and just looked out from behind the teeth, peeking and slightly tilting his head as his mind began to conjure some signifcance to why this guy was just here, cold-ridden weather, near the cliff as well... was he planning on commiting suicide? Maybe? Nam-kyu blinked his deep black eyes, mulling it over. No, this guy seemed way too rich to do such a thing, what in life could honestly trouble him? Then what? Actually, this made him somewhat disappointment. He was absolutely sure that this guy would make for a lovely lunch, and an amusing show to see all the people try and find a body that just wouldn't show up - but then agian, it would be quite the walk to get to the bottom and collect the dead body of the fallen guy. By the end, he wasn't sure if it was a good or bad thing, but he ignored this as well and just watched carefully, steadily keeping cautious over any actions. This wasn't particularly weird though... just watching a guy completely unaware you are... stand near the cliff tihnking to himself... no, it was normal so long as he didn't get caught.

All he wanted to do was think in solitude...was that too fucking much to ask of the world, to grant him a place that was completely devoid of other beings. He stared off at the forest hearing the sound of water far off in the distance as he willed the presence to leave him. Slowly though as the seconds ticked by his thought glazed and lost stare turned into a glare. "if you are waiting for me to jump...you will be sadly mistaken" he said his voice cold and relaxed, but there was a power behind it compelling and meaning that he spoke the truth not just some fabricated lie made up to cover a moment. With smooth striking movements he spun around his eyes changing the pupils becoming slitted like those of a snake as he scanned them over the area searching. He blinked once tasting the air..not human...a predator, carnivore. He thought to himself in a calculating tone as his slitted eyes finally located the one who was watching him and the eyes that looked angered and restless landed on coal black unblinking and daring him..to do something anything at all.

There was nothing, but Nam-kyu was surprisingly patient and ready to wait out however need be for a nice, weak moment to actually pounce the man and indulge in a delicious rich taste that would most certainly be in the offer. In fact, he was looking forward to that, his sharp teeth slightly opening and shutting behind his lips in the way to try and image how it would taste, or practice how to chew into it. But abruptly the other spoke up with soem kind of monotone sound to his voice, stating that if he thought he was going to jump, it wasn't going to happen. It took a second for him to realize that he'd gotten caught. But how... Nam-kyu was always very good at stalking and hiding, it had to be one of the few things he could be somewhat proud of. And to have that wasted by this guy? His black eyes narrowed slightly, wishing he'd jump anyways. No one should say that to him. But he pulled back slightly as the other scanned, meaning he didn't know where he was quite at exactly. But soon enough it seemed as though the stranger figured it out. Nam-kyu turned back and pressed his backside against the tree, lightly growling to himself as Gippeum crawled slowly to his other shoulder. He wasn't really sure about what to do. Should he run away or face the one he planned to have become the 'victim'. He doubted that the hunter has become the hunted, that's for sure. He waited a moment but sighed, letting the matter just drift off before he turned back around and pressed himself slowly from the tree, walking out as the other seemed to expect him to do something. But he kept a good six meters distance. This was fine, though, silently, he did make the plan to jump the other any moment now, until then he gave a slight smile, not showing his teeth, and shoved his hands in his pocket, the large centipede resting now upon his shoulder. "That's sick, to think someone would want to say that," He stated to the other - though knowing himself that it would be delightful to see, but lying was not a hard game at all to play.

The first thing Chance noticed about the other as he stepped out from his hiding spot was the fact that he had a giant ass centipede on his shoulder. that cant be sanitary he thought with a sense of disdain, he cocked his head to the side his slitted pupils not changing as he scrutinized the creature, paying little mind to the "predator" preferring the pet. After about a minute he turned his attention to the Asian, and deciding his shift in attention was a good thing as he saw heat flare up on the other as soon as he spoke. typical.. As he turned around preferring to the scenery to the sight of another living being. "get lost, I am not in the mood to deal with a petty liar" he said his voice containing a hissed like quality embedded in the monotone. Then he was done, of course he could feel the presence of the other but really he decided to pay it no mind...there was no point. slowly his eyes shifted back to normal the pupils settling back down loosing the creepy quality but not dimming in intensity as he went back to his silent vigil. ooc sorry its short

OOC: IT'S OKAY, I DID IT TOO. lD Also, I messed up. It's a millipede not a centipede. FUUUUUUU- The other seemed to have been staring at Gippeum, which, honestly, was not surprising. Some lanky Asian guy was less surprising or interesting to see than the huge millipede that he would be carrying around with him. He didn't really see why though. Many people screamed or coward when they saw it - but Nam-kyu thought Gippeum was adorable. This guy, a planned and hopeful meal Nam-kyu would think of him to be, gave moments attention to the millipede, and only about a second to him before he turned and looked back out at what was before him. This kind of made him frustrated but, honestly, he didn't see the harm in it. It didn't make any less of his chances of managing to kill and devour him. His dark eyes narrowed abruptly though when the other spoke up to him, tellng him, unkindly, to get lost. This guy deserved to die now. Where did the audacity come from to tell him such a thing? As if Nam-kyu was going to actually listen to that. The guy seemed to be at least somewhat rich - that's probably where it came from. Hah, he could care less abotu how much money he had then, food didn't deserve it. But a sligth huff just merely escaped him as he reached up to his shoulder, allowing the huge millipede to crawl onto his hand, allowing the several legs of Gippeum to tickle his hand as it's black body moved onto it. His other hand began to gingerly stroke Gippeum's black-shelled back as it curled up in his palm though a bit too big and he stepped forward. "Naah," He said with no attempt at eloquence. "Doesn't seem very fun like that." He still kept his distance but he looked over. "What are you doing?" Nam-kyu asked.

ooc O ok lol Had chance not been in touch with his surrounding he might have been surprised by the fact that the other was still here. However as it was he was not even mildly surprised to here the voice coming from a few feet away. He sighed slightly his intense staring at the horizon line that was covered by the mountains, ignoring the trees and lush scenery...it was no linger important. He sighed when the voice asked a question honestly couldn't the wold just leave him alone "I am speaking with the stars...just becuase you can't see them doesn't mean they aren't there." He said sounding mildly distracted. However the fact that he was not alone was breaking up his concentration He hissed like seriously hissed and raked his fingers pulling his hair slightly in his frustration. He turned his around again and glared at the other "seriously can you leave you are screwing with my connection" he said placing his hands on his hips laying them over the designer jeans his breath coming out in a puff of white air. He cocked his head to the side and rolled his eyes after a moment like something had clicked into place. He rubbed his red nose with his hand and sniffed and he chuckled darkly "leave predator....i will not be a meal for you" he said then he turned away once more before walking to the edge of the cliff and standing there looking off in the same direction he had been staring at since coming here.

Immediately when he was answered, an expression of 'you gotta' be kidding me' came up across his facade as his sharp teeth came closely together and eyes narrowed. This guy is fucking nuts. No more had to be thought about that. Nam-kyu couldn't tell if he was just joking, or he really thought he could actually talk to gaseous objects in space just by standing on a cliff. All the better to eat! The world didn't need freaks like that after all. Nam-kyu ignored the glare of death he'd gotten from the other before he'd look back after having spoken and done some really 'high-authority annoyance' movement. This only amused the Korean. Regardless of anything, he was determined to get this meal, though, or at least something of equal value. But come on! A nicely built, good-looking, rich guy; pffft, try to top that one off. Honestly it was all too good, he didn't care what the other said - even though he shoud've been surprised he knew that he wanted him as a meal. But, then again, surely there were rumors out and about regardless. Gippeum seemed to have figured out his next movements, quickly taking the precaution of climbing up his arm and to resting someone on one shoulder, then which it's body on the other, marking a curve around his neck, just to be safe. Say what you will about the millipede, but it was actually rather smart. With Gippeum shfited, Nam-kyu held his hands behind his back and pursed his lips to keep from laughing, though being aware of the sharp teeth. Like a child, Nam-kyu made a few large, ditzy and daring steps over to the other, trying to be secretive about disobeying. But then all of a sudden a wicked grin wiped onto his facade, showing the horrid teeth as black eyes widened. "Funny..." He mused in a creepy fashion, "Food never gets to choose!" And without a warning, he leaped onto the other and dug somewhat sharp nails into him. Boy, was he hungry. This one was just going to be fun though.

Sounding crazy was really the least of his worries. He was annoyed the other moved towards him and he had to restrain himself from throwing the male off the cliff, after all the stars would not like to witness cold blooded murder just becuase he was having one of those days. He sighed mentally as he waited, people listening to him seemed to be just to much to ask and the lanky carnivorous Asian was not taking his advice. so Chance waited not even bothering to even attempt to ignore the other he just stood there staring off leaving his connection to the stars for another time. Honestly for the love of my fucking sanity he thought annoyed beyond all belief at this point. He felt the other leap and he felt sharpened nails dig into his skin..but it was funny even with the added weight he was barley even thrown off balance. However before he could stop it a hiss escaped his mouth and his eyes slitted once more he felt his fangs dropping down behind his teeth and the small patches of scale slide from under his skin blending in with his skin in all but texture. He moved then easily it would seem and with precision that a human could not have. His hand reached up and grabbed the Asian boy deftly by the neck pulling him off and slamming him into the snow slick ground. "you couldn't just leave me alone" he hissed his hand tightening around the throat in his grasp

To Nam-kyu this was just going ot be food. He was just going to rip and tear the skin off of him and consume, only taking articles of whatever based upon whether he wanted it or not, but he was sure that he wouldn't quite fit into his clothing. The Korean was going to lash out happily. It didn't bother him that the other vaguely even noticed the weight suddenly pounced against him, no, the only thing on his mind was turning this guy into good, delicious food. But then he was learning that he must've made some kind of mistake. His dark eyes snapped wide with confusion when he noticed the change of the other's skin texture - thne he panicked, clenching his sharp teeth together and about to make a run for it but his neck as caught too quick, he gagged. The next part was painful - slammed into the ground without his neck being released. Gippeum had rolled off of his shoulder, but slowly made it's way back, black body moving through the snow. He brought his hands up and grabbed the other's forearm, trying to coax him into letting his throat go as the trouble of beeathing became more than just a problem whilst he struggled. "I-...I didn't know hnn... yo-you weren't... hu-h-...human..." He tried to tell the other through his gasps of breat, as if that would help his situation anymore but he figured it would do at least something. But he dug his nails into the other's skin, continuously trying to pry his hand off of his throat.

It was a feeble attempt really the other using his lanky clawed hand to attempt to get him to cease his suffocation. He was vaguely amused..he usually tried to refrain from killing people who pissed him off, after all it was now it a good habit for a golden boy, but today, right now he was willing to make an exception. Fortunately for the poor being who had the misfortune to piss him off the stars had other plans. Chance Prelude Saint Clair McArt...cease what you are doing this instant the words sounded in his head making him wince at their tone of voice and he paused his hand no longer tightening, but not loosening any either. "why? its his idiotic fault he is in this mess....honestly I am doing humanity a favor by getting rid of him" he said out loud his voice still containing a hissed quality. It was odd he was speaking verbally, but he was to pissed to concentrate enough for mental communication alone. Since when is it in your power to decide who lives and who dies? you forget your place guardian...now release him he could tell as the seconds ticked by and he had not released the Asian's neck that they were becoming more and more angry with him.... he glared at the boy though snake slitted eyes and for once in his life he was tempted to disobey, but he knew that the consequences of such an action would be dire. so mustering his self control he removed his hand from the males neck and stepped back "happy" he snapped staring off at the horizon looking slightly petulant and also resigned at the same time. the stars laughed at him and he gritted his teeth against the urge to tell them to shut the fuck up. you listened very good, we will grant your request. they said after they had decided to cease their laughter. chance smiled slightly although it was more of a triumphant smirk...he had his request granted slowly he held out his hand and out of no where a staff appeared it was beautiful. dark colored wooden staff with what appeared to be snake scales and other reptilian based designs carved deep into the smooth wood. On top was a clear black bubble that was not made of any substance of this world and within was a scorpion. floating centralized staring out as power seemed in and out of the staff. Chance bowed his head "thank you" he said the ones who had given him his gift it was perfect. Feeling the stars leave his mind he sighed and ran a hand though his hair while examining his staff "how did you not know i wasn't human... i could not have made it anymore clear" he said absently to the Asian as he sat on the cold ground deciding to meditate before retuning tot he city

Nam-kyu was absolutely sure that today was such an unlucky day that he, in fact, was just about to die. This guy was completely insane, he wouldn't have doubted with his throat was completely squished here in a few moments. He kept talking. He was saying weird things, nothing directed to the slightly cannibilistic creature that he was holding onto, well, at least it was vaguely. It was more like hhe stranger was talking about him, not to him despite no one else was around. Insane. He was completely and utterly insane. Insane and inhuman. To Nam-kyu, that was a horrible combination. At least with a human he had a better advantage, but this time around this couldn't be the case considering this male wasn't just that. Coming across this, the Korean loosened his fingers, about ready to just accept this fate and give in. Dying on an empty stomach sounded horrible, but, honestly, what more could he do? He didn't want to leave Gippeum behind though either... they were bestfriends, he couldn't do that to the millipede, but again, nothing he really could do. But much to his surprise, his neck was free. Immediately Nam-kyu took in the air, but stayed on the ground, afraid to get up for the time being. But he saw what the other was doing - some kind of weird look staff had materialized in his hands and he thanked a non-existant person or creature for it. Nam-kyu's eyebrows furrowed but he was somewhat light-headed, unable to really think about it but did just figure that he was imagining things or something like that. He was completely quiet for a moment, staring up, and even after the question was asked, Nam-kyu didn't even budge, like he was dead or something. However, the moment Gippeum managed to trail through thr snow and crawl up onto his stomach, he finally set up and let it crawl in his then set the large millipede back on his shoulder, it immediately becoming comfortable. He looked over at the other sitting on the ground, glaring. "Didn't know before I attacked," He stated firmly to the other, standing up and brushed the snow off his bottom. His whole backside felt like it was freezing now - he wasn't exactly in the proper clothing for some horseplay in snow. Nam-Kyu shivered, hugging himself though absent-mindedly rubbing his neck a bit, where he was strangled.

The idiocy of well just about everyone was really staring to get to him he shook his head running his hands though his hair as he rose to his feet. The cold did not bother him one bit..infact it was refreshing but as he took time to send out his awareness he realized it was below freezing and the Asian kid was not dressed appropriately for the weather flesh eater or not. Chance supposed he owed it to the stars for his gift, but as it was he would rather have jumped off the mountain that do what needed to be done. Flexing his fingers around the staff the large ornate wooden thing shrunk to the size of a pendant and he placed that around a leather tie slipping it around his neck and under his nice designer shirt. "come on..you will freeze out here, i will give you a ride back down the mountain" he said his voice smooth an monotone once more, as he absently began to walk in the direction of his sleek sports car, that was waiting for him

This guy really was insane. Or something like that. Well, paranormal activites such as a sudden staff, or it shrinking, wasn't really soemthing insane if he was seeing it himself as well, but Nam-kyu wasn't sure about any of that anymore. He ended up ignoring it though instead of playing surprised. After all, something like him should be immune to such a thing. A slight hiss was made when his sharp teeth chattered against eachother, the sharper 'canines' at the top slightly cutting into his bottom gums, which hurt. Wait, why was he still standing here? He should've ran off five minutes ago - perhaps he was awaiting for some kind of apologiy for having been strangled. It didn't seem like he was going to get that anyways though. Not from some kind of reptile anyways. Argh, might as well then. Nam-kyu's dark eyes scanned over the side of the cliff, then somewhat at the dark treelines, being ignorant of the cars presence by force. He was about absolutely positive that he'd lose some appendage of his own the way down from frost-bite, or something like that. It'd been a lot easier walking up, considering the stored heat - but now even his ass was freezing, thanks to a certain someone who just so happened to be in the same area. Had he actually managed to consume the other, Nam-kyu figured he'd have no trouble walking on his merry way then, seeing as a full tummy could be quite the warmth - what with blood and other gooey, moist, and hot insides. Oh, that wasn't intended to remind him of the hunger. Nam-kyu shook his head and looked over, seeing as the guy was walking away to where the automobile was at, speaking out loud. Nam-kyu's eyes narrowed slightly. 'I just tried to turn you into dinner, and you're offering me a ride?' his mind was in complete disbelief to hear this. He wondered if it meant the other'd get payback like that, but at this point, he couldn't find himself really in the mood to care - it was fucking cold up here. A shiver reminded him of this and he made up his mind, quickly following after after crooning to Gippeum to calmness; even though it looked contented and sleepy on the male's shoulder. "Uhm, okay, thanks," He said, looking away as he kept his hands at his sides, mulling it over somewhat, still somewhat shocked. "So... no hard feelings for attacking you?" Nam-kyu asked, trying to make sure this wasn't a payback of any sort.
