Fudge Cake:

Brown and brown,
Smeared on her face,
Sweet and sugary,
It's fudge cake.
She waddles.
These tiny legs moving so quickly.
So sure of herself.
And the world seems so big.
She she doesn't know yet.
Just how big it is.
And it seems so safe,
So safe,
As she goes to her mama.

Coconut Sharks.

"Damn coconut sharks."
Her voice came from nowhere,
It seemed.
It startled him.
Talked about coconut sharks?
So he wasn't alone in that though?
How odd.
He waited for her to come out.
She was cute.
And he smiled.
"Coconut shark."
His tone was friendly.
She was wary, though.
She was bland.
He grabbed her hand.
They both felt it.
The love.
The rightness for each other.
All because she said.
"Those damn coconut sharks."
