Faeries Dance
(for Samantha)

Although in truth I know you lay

Miles and miles and miles away

Still in the darkness

With eyes half-closed

I feel the bond

That only we both know

And it almost seems like you are near

Or maybe that's just me wishing you were

With arms around you laying here

I'd lay beside you and never stir

So as not to wake you while you slept

In my embraces your body kept

While our spirits flew in starry air

Two faeries dancing a comely pair

In my dream I see you there

And how I lead you in heavenly flight

Our merrymaking throughout the night

Would last until the morning light

Then I would wake without your touch

Loving you now and ever so much

Although we are many leagues apart

Such a dream is a pleasant start

And I just wanted you to know,

That when faeries dance,

You are in my heart.
