Ava strutted in, all short dark hair and large green eyes framed by makeup. Although it was December, she wore a denim tank top, showing off her tattoo sleeve of various classic video game characters. She walked up to Choi, and then beside him where all the movies were kept. |

Mary walked up the steps quietly. She hadn't met any of the other people in the building yet, and she wasn't sure who would be up there. She wasn't really in the mood to meet people, but she never really was. She reached the door way hoping the room was empty, but half willing to talk to someone if they were in there. She saw the two people in the room and considered turning back. Mary new she'd have to meet them sometime, so she continued anyways. "..Hello." She said awkwardly, as she glanced around the room, looking at the new surroundings. "Lord of the Rings, The Conjuring, or Mean Girls?" asked Ava, turning around. She was model pretty, but of course she was a model. A model going to school for forensic photography. At least modelling was better than stripping, which was her only other option. |

"Lord of the Rings. I've never seen the conjuring and Mean Girls Is just not as good." She replied. Mary looked at the girl for a second. The girl was pretty. Mary wondered about her, and who she was. She seemed decent, and Mary wasn't one to judge right off the bat. But, if she didn't like someone she could get aggressive. "What's your name?" She asked, skimming the the books with with her finger tips. Jane sat comfortably in the back of a run down NYC taxi, holding her dogs on plain black and white leashes. Earlier, it was almost impossible to call one over, seeing as her dogs made everything twice as difficult. Eventually a cab had stopped and a man in his late fifties or early sixties greeter her into the car. He explained to her how he never usually let dogs into his cab but saw how troubled she looked and decided to help Jane out. From then on, their conversations were short and ranged from many topics. Snowflakes crushed against the windshield as he drove the busy streets of New York; half an hour from the airport he made a sharp stop. She could barely see her way out of the frosted window but from the outline, she knew where they were. Digging through her bag, she finally managed to pull out her wallet and collect the money she owed the man. He called out to her and told her this ride was on him, she declined but he persisted. After some time, she finally took his offer and lifted herself from the back seat and to the street. Her dogs followed suit, patting either legs on the freezing concrete not being able to stand still. “Thank you so much, you’ve really made my day.” They said their goodbyes and the man drove off. Jane froze and forgot to ask the man’s name but it was already to late, but in high hopes she jotted down his cab number and figured they might meet again one day. Excited, Jane bounced in her spot and faced the old apartment doors, reading the notice that was posted up. The door’s unlocked, so make yourself comfortable. Creeping open the door slightly, Jane peered in and glanced around to see if anyone was around, hearing the faint noise of conversation upstairs. Her face gleamed and she continued into the flats, the sound of slight pitter-patter from her dog’s nails. Without looking around, she jogged up the stairs to her right and met with a few other tenants. A young bleached blond hair boy sat in an armchair, a beautiful tattooed woman holding a cased film, and a fiery red haired woman who appeared to be talking to the other. “I really hope I’m not bothering, the notice said to come in.” Her dogs hopped in place before yanking the leashes from Jane's hand to greet the others with animated barks and sniffs. "No-no-no-no!!" She exclaimed, running after the two overly thrilled Shiba Inus, fearing one of the tenants had a phobia of dogs.

Ava looked down at the Shiba Inus, and she kneeled down, scratching one between the ears. Smiling softly, she looked back up at the owner. "Sorry, I just love animals. Grew up in the U.P., so we had a lot of them." She stood back up, then stretched. "We've decided on the Lord of the Rings, if you want to spend the next fourteen hours with us." She had to wait until her agency contacted her before anything. |

Jane laughed softly and nodded, pointing to the Shiba Inu the tattooed woman petted, “His name is Cocoa-“ Pointing over to the other one, “And he’s Mocha, they are both rather mellow but they get excited once the meet new people.” Cocoa stayed close to the woman and rested his legs onto her standing lap, begging to be picked up; his brother mimicked. Jane sighed, calling them off of her but they remained on their back legs. “I’m sorry, they can be so stubborn sometimes.” While dropping her bags onto the floor, she walked closer to woman, pulling off her dogs and picking them up into her arms. “I’m Jane, I don’t believe I caught your name.” Shifting her pups down into her hooped arms, they panted in joy and licked her face simultaneously.

"Ava. And actually, I got the word I was rooming with a Jane." She smiled. She put the two last movies back on the shelf, turning around on her heal. "I think you're the only Jane here...?" |

Jane’s eyes beamed as she smiled, enjoying the idea of sharing a room with someone so sweet and didn’t hate the company of dogs. Ava. She kept a mental note of the name and gave a short nod to her confusion, “So far I have only met you three, maybe the landlord mentioned a surname?” “Butler.” Jane added, setting down the mutts who were nipping at her to set them down. Mocha and Cocoa hopped around but this time they close to Jane's ankles. Playing with each other, they eventually managed to tired each other out and sit at the their owner's feet. Sitting close together, their tongues hung low and they both panted in unison.
