Chanyeol sat quietly on the edge of the poolside with his legs dangling over and in the water where they moved separately back and forth and he hummed to himself; the only way to keep himself entertained. Quietly he brought his arms as well into the water and lightly splashed around causing many ripples of water to form when his eyes formed into brown orbs staring curiously yet blankly at the water. The Asian sighed out once the humming had determined the end of the song and he brought his chin to meet the sky while his brown orbs searched for a sign. But he wasn't sure what. The male leaned back, purple hoodie and gray t-shirt while his legs were somewhat covered by cold water when his blue swimsuit went to his thighs but stopped upon his bony knees. He was starting to feel cold, but he generally had no intention of getting up. It was calm and quiet, and he liked it.

Annali walked out of the changing room and out to the pool. She wore a hoodie and some sandles. She held a bag in her hand and a to over her shoulder. She walked to a chair and sat her things down on it. She then took off her neon green hoodie and set it over the chair. She was wearing a two piece white bikini with frills at the bottom. It was nice in her. And she loved it. She sat on the edge of the pool and stuck her feet in. "Oh that's cold." She felt the water with her hands before jumping in.

Although she couldn't swim, not in that godforsaken chlorine, Hyacinth, did put
her feet in the water. She was pretty enough, with long, blonde hair and tan skin, eyes
that were almost amber.

Shame she wouldn't live past forty, at the most.

She had CF, and right now was tethered to an oxygen tank, covered in stickers and
decoupaged pictures of she and her friends at the beach. She was a surfer. Was. Now, she
was approximately one thousand kilometers to the nearest surfable ocean. And she was sad.

After wandering around for about an hour, Lainey decided to chill at the swimming pool,
since it was kind of toasty outside. She took of the cardigan that covered her slim
shoulders and set it on the concrete ground, so she wouldn't get her favorite skirt dirty.
Taking off her shoes, the girl dipped her feet and half of her calves into the cool water,
sighing contentedly. "Oh that feels good." She murmured softly, closing her eyes. Her eyes
opened when she saw a new girl come into the pool area, and she nodded in greeting g.

The fourteen year old looked at the older girl, jealous. She was beautiful, and
here was Hyacinth Ngata, the quarter-Maori, with plastic tubing covering her face and
helping her breathe. She hated it.

She looked around and frowned. Queenstown was way more beautiful than this.

"Hello," Lainey greeted the younger girl. She was really pretty, aside from the tubing on
her face. 'That was rude,' she chastised herself in her mind. "They call me Lainey." She
added after a couple more moments of silence.

"Hyacinth." she had a soft voice, a stuffy one with a bit of a New Zealander
accent. "I'm Hyacinth." She was wearing a loose top, shorts, and sandals, but the sandals
were beside her.

"What class are you in?" She asked, kicking her feet a little in the water. "Freshman?"
She inquired, turning her head to the side. Lainey briefly considered asking about the
tubing, but decided against it, seeing as they barely just met each other.

Hyacinth nodded, then asked something. "Are you from Ireland, Lainey? Your accent
sounds familiar."

"No, actually. Born and raised in New York, but my parents immigrated from Ireland, so
they still had their accents when they raised me. Where are you from? Your accent is
really interesting." Lainey's lips turned up, a small, welcoming smile on her face.

"New Zealand." She said, kicking at the water.

"What's it like there?" She asked her, curiously. "Is it hot all the time?"

"It's literally Middle Earth." She said. "The majority of Lord of the Rings was
shot there."

Lainey laughed. "That's so cool!" She exclaimed.
