On Ruby's fourth birthday,
She knew what she wanted.
She blew out the candles,
And whispered words so dear,
"I wish my daddy was here."

On her seventh birthday,
She knew what she wanted.
She blew out the candles,
And whispered so dear,
"I wish my daddy was here."

Another wish,
Another day,
Her poor broken mother knew not what to say.

On her fourteenth birthday,
She knew what she wanted.
She blew out the candles and whispered a wish so grown,
"I want my dad to come home."

Another wish,
Another day,
Her mother got up and said what she had to say.

"Your dad's not coming home,
He left us so long ago!
When he never comes,
I won't say I told you so!"

On her sixteenth birthday,
She knew what to wish.
She blew out her candles and whispered so sweet,
"I wish for my dad to be,
Everything I ever wanted,
And for him to love me."

Her mom couldn't stand it and cried a single tear,
"Sweetheart, your dad has always been here."

Ruby touched her heart and gave a smile.
"Mom I've known that all the while.
He lives in my heart,
Where no one can go,
And he loves me, Mom.
That I know."

And breaking through the crowd,
With a cry loud and clear,
"Cry no more, Ruby,
Your Dad is here!"

And this comes to tell you,
Good things come to those who wait.
I always loved my daddy,
Unlike mom who was filled with hate.

And everyday,
A wish comes true,
In every darkness,
There is a light,
Waiting to come through.

Go Yehyita!!!!!!!! That was beautiful.
I need a hope
I need a light
Something to look to
In the arctic night
Where beauty abounds
In everything
There, my friends, is what I need
