Here, students are usually taught with them sitting on the floor, the teacher usually manning the piano. The doors lead to the hallway with smaller music rooms for students' private use. Professors: Julia Robinson - Mondays and Tuesdays {|I and III|} Tina Solace - Thursdays and Fridays {|II and IV|}

Johann stumbled into the room, books clutched to his chest in a slightly paranoid manner. His blond curls were more tussled than usual, due to the sprint and panic attacks from the many wrong turns. Maps are evil, he decided firmly, still hugging his books. Johann surveyed the room, smiling as his murky eyes took in the piano's luster and curves. Yes, curves indeed. A pout found its way onto his lips. Where were the desks? Chairs? Johann shuddered, eying the wooden floor; paranoia starting to build up in him. Did he have to sit on the floor? Even if what was cleaned often, people still stepped on the floor. Who knew what people stepped in? Johann swallowed and stood stiffly beside the door, not quite sure how to proceed in this dire situation.

Julia walked down the hallway, followed by a few old students of hers. She joined in on the camaraderie until she noticed the blonde boy standing just outside the lesson room. Lightly tapping on his shoulder, she spoke to him in her melodic voice. "Are you alright?" She asked. He was apparently new, and as she glanced around, the only one new in her Monday morning class. "We leave our shoes out here in the hall." She gestured towards the shoe rack. "If it wasn't obvious enough already." She left her own shoes out and stepped in, immediately taking the seat by the piano. "So, how was everyone's summer?"

Oh. Johann suddenly felt foolish for his slight mental overreaction and removed his shoes quickly, placing them carefully onto the shoe rack. The nervous boy shuffled into the classroom, and choose an empty spot on the floor behind the rest of the students, only muttering an almost silent good, when the teacher asked about everyone's summer. As if she really cares, he sniffed mentally; staring above the teacher's head in a daydream like state, rather than actually seeing the woman by the piano.

As everyone muttered a simple fine, good, or boring, she double checked to see how many new students she had and how many had left. Alright, four have left me and two have arrived. She thought, ignoring the lively chatter from the students. As she looked through her list, she realized the two newbies weren't talking to anyone. And apparently, old or new didn't want to make the effort of getting to know. "Alright then." She struck a single deep note to catch the class' attention. "To the two that're new, I'm Julia Robinson, Miss Robinson if you please." She indicated towards the class and herself leaving the two out. "We all know each other around here, I need both of you to introduce yourselves." In almost a challenging voice, she pointed to Johann. "You, what's your name?"

Aw. Johann sighed internally but smiled politely outwardly at the teacher. Why did he have to introduce himself first? he thought. "Oh, my name is Johann Landon," he paused for a moment, noting the teacher's somewhat challenging tone. "Ma'am."

"And my name's Royce." said the other new student. "Alright then class. Let's tune your voices a bit for the day." She leaned and came up with a stack of papers. "Lyrics to the songs I'm playing are there. Don't worry, it's chronologically arranged, so need to worry about getting lost." ● ● ● As Julia played, she realized she had yet to hear the voices of the two boys. She soon ended the piece, and while the other students were toying with the words of the next song, she held up her left hand to tell them to stop. Everyone turned their attention to her. "Initiation for the newbies!" She said, nearly laughing. Her students hollered cheerfully. They had been waiting for her to say it. "Let's start with you, Royce. You have to fly solo on the next song. Good luck!"

Johann's attention began to wander, and he twirled his handkerchief in his hand as he waited patiently for his turn. Initiation usually was just an excuse for teachers and students to pick on newbies - like him and Royce. The thought finally hit him and he flinched. Wanting to sneak out of the room as fast he possibly could, Johann forced himself to sit, smile and wait. Wait as sullenly as I can, he thought wryly. And so he proceeded to sit with a pout.

Julia lightly played the piece that Royce was singing, noticing his voice was in the range of the Tenors. As he ended the piece, she drummed her fingers along her seat, watching Royce take his seat beside the other new student. She tapped a few bars of the next melody, aware that Royce had nearly had a heart attack as he had sung. The next one will be nervous too. She mused. "All right! Your turn . . . " She checked her student list, scanning for the names marked with an asterisk. Ah, there it was. "Johann."

Johann fiddled uncomfortably. Royce was great, and he felt undermined even though he wasn't going to sing. It wasn't to say he couldn't, but it definitely not a strong point. He sighed and stared awkwardly at his teacher. "I need to use the piano," he said timidly, and sat beside the teacher with no warning. Johann gave a small smile and resisted the urge to stroke the keys. This is where he was most at home. Raising his hands and giving his fingers a small shake before beginning to play a small part of a song; Mozart? he thought distractedly. I can't remember...I want a donut. His fingers danced effortlessly over the white teeth of the piano, and ended with nice soft tinkle. He gave another sigh; relieved this time. Cracking his fingers he smiled suddenly at Ms. Robinson. "Did I do okay?"

Julia smiled, amazed by her student's ability. Yes, he needed a bit of adjusting here and there, but they were all minor. What was important was that he had actual talent, he wasn't just forced to learn the thing and because of practice, became good at it. And, goodness gracious, he even had a passion for it. Julia could see it once he finished. He had a dozy, content expression on his face. "Well then, thank goodness, we have a new pianist. The last good one left with the batch from last year." She smiled at Johann, patting him lightly on the head. "Hey, that's not nice, Ma'am!" Remarked a student from the group. Julia laughed along with the rest of the class, and then dismissed the remark. She then asked Johann to go back to his seat with the class. "Alright, we'll be tackling the following..." As she rolled off the list, the bell rang. "Oh darn it." As some students started standing up, she held up her hand again to ask them to stop. "As for your project this semester, you'll be paired up with another student. I don't really even care if you two are in the same time frame, as long as you both take music. You'll be applying all the lessons I'll teach you in the near future." She stood up, and the bowed. "Okay then, see you next time, kids. Hope to see more of you, Johann!" Julia looked at Johann's way as she said the last sentence, then waved her good-byes to the other students.

Johann flushed pleasantly and stood from the chair.
"Thank you, Ma'am," he straightened his clothing and turned to leave. "I'll be sure to
turn up next lesson."
He was going to like it here, he could tell.
