So I was watching the History Channel (I know shock I haven't done that since they
stopped showing history and replaced it with conspiracy theories and then redneck shows)
and this show was on about the Top 101 Gadgets that changed the world, and as you can
imagine it was bullshit (you know something is wrong when they call their experts geeks
even though that was their original fanbase).
Well not only was this show offensive, but almost nothing on the list actually changed the
world they were all stupid time saving things that weren't needed. Not only was duct tape
(one of the most important inventions ever and the fixer to anything from a leaky pipe,
larp weapons, to a broken heart) near number 100, but the following world changing
"gadgets" were not even on the list!
Printing Press
Steam Engine
Cotton Gin
or even Birth Control

I'm sorry, but I feel all of these are more important than the tv remote, alarm clock, and
the mp3

My plan is to never buy a smart phone. It was something I told my self I would never do
long ago.
They just don't know how to acknowledge the REAL gadgets that changed the world.

No offense, but half the things you listed AREN'T gadgets.
A gadget is something to do with technically
Sure there are things more important
But their not technical
And some of those things are out of date by now
I agree its crappy
I watched it

Yeah, but a lot of things on the list weren't "technical"
duct tape isn't technical neither is some of the plastic material they mentioned, but it's
still a tool

and besides penicillin and birth control (two things that greatly changed the world)
everything else I listed is "technical"

Also I am never getting a smart phone either....I'm still waiting for an Omni-tool :3

Yes! You can play games, check for information, heal people, repair broken equipment,
hack into public consoles, and in combat it can do this

Oh yeah IPhone users whats that? Your phone can play fruit ninja? Well my omni-tool can
fucking stab people :3

Did you know that the power of the smart phones/iPhones are equivalent to the power we
had when we launched a man to the moon? And what do we do with it? Launch birds at poorly
built buildings.

Nobody knows if we actually sent a man to the moon. It could all of been a hoax.

Just saying I think we are too technically advanced. Girls have to check their phones
every second of the day, nerds like me go straight home to play video games..... for God
fucking sake teenagers are wasting money buying Ipads, Iphones, Ipods and anything else
apple decides to make. I hate apple with a passion and the only thing I use made by apple
is an Ihome cause it works well with my Mp3 player. See I still use Mp3 players cause they
aren't so complicated and difficult and..... how do I say this... stupid. If suddenly all
sorts of technical shit stopped working everyone will freak out and the world will end. ><

Not everyone's like that though. Hand me a old telephone, a tv, and my laptop and im
fine. I don't care about ipads or iphones or ipods. I don't even care about cellphones
except that their easily fit into your pocket like in an emergency where you don't have
your house phones. I say bring old telephones smaller. No internet on them or calculators,
just a simple phone to call. Now I do admit, im bad about the laptop, but thats the only
one with me. I prefer radios or boomboxes over them.

Yah but I'm just saying in general. All children are self centered and spoiled nowadays.
Because I come from a fucked up family I barely ask for anything cause I know we don't
have the money for it. It pisses me off when people say "oh yah I'm getting an Ipad and a
laptop and all this shit for Christmas." I just say "put a sock in it! Not everyones
fucking rich like you" "Oh I'm not rich" "Then stop fucking acting all spoiled and stopped
fucking asking for $500 items!!!!!!"

I agree, I have to wait till tax refund most the time. I don't ask for technological
things for Christmas much, I like clothes better. Maybe a new game for the DS I already
have but thats it. My brother only gets 500 a week, and with gas, food, and essentials, it
doesn't leave me 2,000 to go buy new ipads. I have to wait for tax refund to get a 3DS and
it took me a couple years to get both. My brother and I share the laptop, and the tv, and
most of the time I don't even have a phone on me. What really bugs me is the girls that
will text 24/7 in class.

I'm poor and my mom is the only one who works and were struggling to get by. I only ask
for video games to keep me entertained but video games are like 60 bux unless its sims
which is 40 bux. Ipads are like $500 dollars. Newer ipods are like $100 I'm guessing for
the laptops but there probably at least $500. And girls who text in class are ignorant
bitches. I mean they say they don't get what were doing but maybe thats cause there not
listening at all cause their friends who there gonna see after class well there more
important then school. Psh it doesn't matter that school will help you survive in this
world. Nope as long as they have their friends who they'll eventually lose and then they
will end up alone in college surrounded by people they don't know failing school and its
all because they texted in c;ass.

Most of the time also what they have to say in a texts is something that can wait after
school. I know I have lunch to tell my best friend something that went on in my day, and
anything else can wait after school. There will be a small group of us getting our
diplomas from college while they sit on the side of the road, texting on a piece of
cardboard. Notice I said ipads though, 2,000 would atleast get me four. And yes, some
people think they need four -rolls eyes-
