If we could have an option to block "swear words", that would be nice.
Maybe, for post, anon...etc. I don't really care about anon since I don't use it...I only
use it as a "ImageBB" to make other people laugh.

We have the "show images" & "hide images" option so why not "show swear
words" & "hide swear words" as well?

It would be difficult to determine what would be a swear wordand what wouldn't.
I mean, "bloody" and "blooming" could be considered as swear words to some, but not to
others.
People who are particularly religous wouldn't want the phrase "Oh My God," to come up
either.
You would need to determine a straight list of "good" and "bad" words.

Well... In MMO's (or the one I play) They block it... Though that is a game and this is a
website, I am sure they can do it.
I think They'd just choose the most common swear words that are bad to anyone. (Anyone who
doesn't like them)
I don't think I'd need to list what those words are, since I believe most people would
know what I mean.

Personally, I don't cuss often, but I don't mind reading it... So I'm not for or against
the idea.

Bloody and blooming aren't bad words. Well, at least not for me! xD Oh my god isn't that offensive for me even if I am religious. Okay words: Darn Dang Crap [imo!]

Yes, that is a good plan.

What happens when someone does this: sh!t or $hit, or something similar. The intent is
still there. It's the internet kids, get over it.

Feature would not work. </3

XD that would be nice, but it wouldnt go well. Like, some people think something is a bad
word, and others just DONT. Games overdo it The computer ones. like seriously once, i
mispelled a word, and it came out the word, but the of the things were stared. In fiesta
if you put down Class, the last three letters will be starred. I have to put in a @ in
crap to make it so i can use it XD

Pointless comment is pointless.

lol remember we used to have a filter on here. it was amusing. Hina smartly did away with
it.

look ok, the problem isnt with the words....there are no bad word or swear words, words
are just tools we use to communicate and like any tools some have their proper use and
some have their improper use...

some so called swear words have a proper use....you can filter them out but you would be
filtering out both their proper and their improper usage since no filter can make that
kind of semantic distinction.

.....and most importantly like Gifts (which you all should be giving me on my Christmas
Gifter) its the IDEA that counts...

sure Kupika could filter out: "Fuck" for example

but if i write: "F&CK you!" you know the word that I mean and the idea is not
destroyed in your mind, in fact its almost worse cause your brain figures out what word is
intended and that sort of even reinforces the word in your minf.

For that matter if I write: "well FRUIT you then!" the idea is still there.

Forget about what other people do in the world or you will never be happy. If not using or
exposing yourself to "swear" words is something that is important to you then try to avoid
those places where you will encounter them (certain Rated R movies, music, websites that
allow free talk, and people who use it a lot) and more importantly just conduct yourself
how you want to conduct yourself. That's all that matters.

Yeah, but it's the internet. No-one really behaves their age...Like just there, I was on
OMGPOP and these randomers started acting stupid and things for no reason....not even
funny....
Pointless comment is pointless.

We've had this topic brought up before
and its just not gonna
happen
this is not a site for kids where there are babysitters or anything
and it would take up more room
which would make it load slower

We could have mods, though....not just for children, just to stop generally illegal
activities e.g. hackers and money grabbers

People just make up weird words.
Or put stars, symbols, etc.

Haha, and the image filter would take up LESS space? Come on.
For that matter if I write: "well FRUIT you then!" the idea is still there.
Naw, I don't see the idea.

Not this again. :/

Dear, even if you block swear words in kupika, people would eventually find/learn them in
real life or in other websites, so there really is not point in this feature. </3

ugh not again. I thought the word option was better than filter, however. People mightn't
look for ways around it if you have to opt in; they just wouldn't opt in.

Hina needs to accept my new account!
