There's been a few times my oekaki's haven't uploaded, and I click back to get them, try
the link thing at the top but it doesn't work. Sugartastic was wondering if we could
restore our oekaki's, if technically possible..

i agree
:P
my oekakis suck, but i still hate it when my internet does something funky, and what i was
working on isnt there anymore

and it could help some of the artists, not having to do WIP's all the time

Yeah, and you could do something, go out, then come back to it.

Unfortunately this is not technically possible.

The oekaki program is a Java applet.
Thus, your oekaki drawing data is stored on computer memory (RAM) by the Java applet.
It could not be saved to a file to be restored later.

When the Java applet is terminated (e.g. you shut down your computer), poof, the drawing
data is gone...

TL, what I did when doing my Sanyu oekaki, was take screencaps every 10 minutes or so and
save them on my hard drive (yes, I am a cap whore o_O). Because my PC has this weird 'turn
off whenever music plays' thing going on. Then if your PC crashes or whatever, you still
have some of the oekaki left, you can do the rest on Photoshop or whatever, and then
upload to picstream. ^^
Huge & unnecessary signature gap is huge & unnecessary. :3

the part that fascinates me is the how to draw

how is all of that stored? it seems to that it must be stored whether or not one checks
the show how to draw check box because if you go back later and edit the info and check
it, it makes it available (i think)

does the whole thing including drawing history get uploaded?

Yes, every "how to draw" data is uploaded for each oekaki.

Otherwise you cannot turn on/off the "show how to draw" options at will :p
