"Art has some concrete principles that you should always follow"
NO. LIES. YOU FAIL.
I'm going to rant a lot, so if you can't tolerate my weird artist side, get over it
My 3D art class sucks. That's something I never thought I'd say, but too bad. The
teacher has no clue what art even is. On the first day of class she said to write
down what you think an artist is, so when I gave her mine she tried to argue with me
over it. It was only one sentence, but that isn't the point. x] I said that "the term
'artist' has no true definition", which is true in my opinion. And that's what she
asked for. So STFU, MARTHA. She actually said that there are criteria that a piece
should meet to be considered good. I wanted to beatpunch her so badly. She's too
structured and is convinced that art has to follow rules. THE WAY I WAS
RAISED...-cough- any "rule" in art is really more of a guideline. Like the Rule of
Thirds. You don't have to have the subject right on one of the thirds, it's just more
aesthetically pleasing. :/ Breaking the rules is what art is about. If everyone just
follows these "rules" there's no creativity.
I'm still thinking about switching classes, but the only open one is 2D art, which
includes painting... I fail at painting. But I dunno, I might try that one out
So. Yeah. There's my rant.
