NO, I AM NOT BASHING ANIME.
I'm a huge anime fanatic.
But here's the thing.
We will use two examples.
Myself, and my friend Shana.
I have been an anime fan since before I knew about Adult Swim. I would surf the
internet for anime on a regular basis, and I became a fan of a HUGE load of anime and
manga that most people had never even heard of. I had an obsession with Gurren
Laggan, Higurashi, Saikano, Air Gear, Air, Welcome to the NHK, and a shit load of
other anime, including the more commonly known ones, like Fullmetal Alchemist, Elfen
Lied (I'd liked that, along with Higurashi, before they were popular), Blood Plus,
Samurai Champloo, etc. I would draw anime, etc, and I wouldn't go around telling
people what a huge fan I was. When somebody asked me, I would list off the anime I
had seen, but that was the extent of it.
Then, there is Shana.
Shana watches Adult Swim Anime, and thinks that it makes her the biggest fan ever,
and will go around bragging about it. I mean, seriously. What the fuck? So you watch
anime on Adult Swim. Not only are true anime fans modest about the fandom, only
speaking up when somebody either bashes the art, or when they get dragged into a
conversation, but They actually LOOK FOR ANIME BY THEMSELVES. They don't just watch a
few on Adult swim and then start acting like they're the biggest fan.
I even argued with her at school about this. I was trying to explain that if she
were a true anime fan, she would actually go and look for one, not just watch
whatever fucking Adult Swim gave her. She said I was being the poser, and I didn't
bother anymore, because she ran off whining about what a bitch I was.
:/ No offense to anime fans. Just don't watch three animes on Cartoon Network and
then run about saying you're the biggest fan when you don't even know shit about
(And oh. Cut the Wapanese shit, would you? If you're not Japanese, don't ACT
