Did David Cook Rip-Off "Eleanor Rigby"?
David Cook was on fire with his rendition of the Beatles classic "Eleanor Rigby" on
"Idol" last night -- but a Seattle band claims he swiped the arrangement from them.
The band DOXOLOGY recorded their version of the track a year and a half ago, putting
it up on iTunes and on the band's MySpace page. The band's manager tells TMZ the song
is what they're best known for and have played it at nearly 200 shows.
The manager says the band has no intention of suing, but they're trying to get in
touch with the show -- they want some props.
"Idol" tells TMZ the contestants pick their song and present their ideas for the
arrangement to the show's musical department and work with them on it.
Adnan Gets in With the Britney Survival Pack
Armed with Red Bull, a pack of smokes and "No Country for Old Men," Adnan Ghalib made
it through the gates of Summit last night.
Though all the evidence points towards a visit with Britney, TMZ has learned he's
made other friends inside Summit. Keep in mind, he was denied entrance to Summit over
Ring the Alarm! Medics Sent to Beyonce's Trailer
Just before midnight yesterday, paramedics were called to Beyonce's trailer on the
New Jersey set of her new film "Cadillac Records" -- but it was her mom, Tina
Knowles, who needed the medical attention.
TMZ spoke exclusively to Beyonce's father, Matthew Knowles, who said medics were
called because Tina has the flu and began to experience shortness of breath. Paging
Matthew tells us Tina's blood pressure was a little high and she was checked out by
medics -- but she was not transported.
Simon: Stripping is Hernandez's Salvation?
Simon Cowell thinks David Hernandez's g-string gyrations at Dick's Cabaret could
actually help him -- but probably not enough from staying off the chopping block.
TMZ spotted the brutally honest judge at Ago after the show and after raving about
"the Irish one," he also gave his predictions for who should get the boot tonight --
will he be right?
Chikezie Is Jesus' Homeboy
Long before "Idol" (and Terminal 4 at LAX), Chikezie actually spent 18 years training
for the "Idol" stage at Fairview Heights Baptist Church in Inglewood ,Ca. -- which
just happens to be Tyra Banks' childhood church.
Chikezie was in a church choir called Praise Team. In this video, shot in October of
last year, it's clear that his years there have served him well. The pastor of the
church, Carl Hargrove, tells TMZ that Chikezie sounds better in church than he does
on "AI". Guess there's nothing quite like the acoustics in God's house
