A silhouette; the spine curving like a blade
As her stare penetrates to one's very centre.
I approach the deed you all forbade,
Silent as a snake, poised like a dagger.
You may think you know me, dear fellow
You don't. But you'll take a stab in the dark,
Whilst I just stab and aim for the torso.
Those cuts you saw? I call them my trademark.
But what if I'm not what you want me to be?
If I'm life, if I'm death, if I'm all in between?
Could anything living be as beastly?
Oh, you wish the idea was not so obscene.
How this phantasm was cleaving your town
Should be asked of your sinners before they go down.

Another piece of English Language coursework. In this case, I chose a different
path for my monologue. This wasn't the final version I submitted as it was too short,
but I think this stanza works perfectly by itself.

It takes the form of a traditional English or Shakespearian sonnet, although I have
taken a few liberties with the syllables in some places. But then again, so did
