I was at a band rehearsal for my school's messed-up version of a vaudville. We call
it "Vaudville". One of my crushes was actually talking to me! He said my name, and
we were sharing the SAME BASS. Now, I know this sounds like no big deal, but when
(and if) I reveal the bad things that happened between us, this would be a huge deal.
He even said my name for the first time I can remember, which sounds so amazing
because his voice is incredible.

I wrote a little about the walk-a-thon, right? Well, there's more. The bassist of
the band I'm in let me use his bass. It's so awesome to look at, has an amazing
sound, and has a snake-pattern. His strap was too long, but I managed. Our band's
name is Midnight Lite. It consists of me (vocals), Danny (guitar),
Eddie (bass), Gilad (guitar), Joe (drums).
While we were rehearsing this morning, another one of my three crushes and his
bandmate were hanging out near us. His friend was DJ-ing, working the sound board,
and handling the microphone. We were at the guitar solo of "Walking Disaster" by SUM
41 when I looked over and saw Matt (my crush) over by my guitar. He made eye contact
and mouthed, "Can I play it?!" I was trying to let him know it was a left-handed
guitar, but he thought I meant, "Play the guitar?!" He was like, "Yeah!" *Note we
were attempting to be heard over the instruments.* I nodded and mouthed, "Go ahead!"
He went off the town common, where we were, and sat down on a bench about ten yards
away. I saw him holding my guitar as if it were right-handed. I thought, "Wow,
Matt. It's a lefty." He then realized that and came back. A few seconds later we
ended the song, and I said, "I was trying to tell you it was left-handed." He said,
"Why does it have to be left-handed? Why? Of all times." (He evidently was getting
bored not playing guitar.) I countered saying, "Because I'm a left-handed guitarist,
Because I want to remember everything about this moment, he was wearing a Nirvana
shirt, navy shorts, and sneakers. I was wearing the walk shirt, jeans rolled up to
my knees, and my purple Converse. His hair was how it normally is, and I had mine
straightened for the first time in three months.
