Not their burden / What a world

I walk down an old road,
I saw the world, so dead, so cold,
Many people wandered there,
The young, the tall,
The old, the small,
All wandering with the same dead eye,
Their smiles all were masks of lies,

A young girls sobs could be heard,
But no one listened because no one cared,
Chose Mamma or Pappa? Seperation forever,
With living together as a family, never,

"I hate you, don't need you any more!"
A mother weeps against her front door,
Wishing for time to rewind,
For fate to be kind,
And bring back her little one,
Her fleash and blood, Her only son,
But passers by, no comfort they share,
For the burden alone belongs to her,

In the distance I hear wars rage,
The screams of the dying,
So many children crying,
But the people who pass me,
They do not care,
Because it is not their burden to bare.

What a world we live in.

(yes I know the whole world isn't like this only the majority, I was in town a little
while back and right in the middle of the high street was this woman screaming her
head of at a little boy, he was about 3-5 ish, then she slaped him, and no one cared
people just kept on walking by, a few wispered to each other, but no one tried to
stop her, so I did, I went and stood between them and politely, but firmly asked her
to calm down. The point is though that so many people are being hurt and abused and
Just walk on by because it is not there problem, think off all the bullying that
happen, people are so happy to sit back and do nothing so long as they themselves are
nit affected it's sick and it's twisted, what the hell has humanity become?
