More like half the school. My friend Brandon organized it so that at 10:30 we would
literally 'walk out' of the school and to the capitol to protest against Scott
Walker, our governor. Another school district had to cancel because so many teachers
called in sick so they could go to the protests as well. It's amazing to me. If Scott
Walker doesn't get the clue by now that what he is doing is just wrong, I think we'll
have a serious issue.

He wants to make it impossible for union workers to negotiate on their rights. He
also wants to cut back on their pay and health care. That means anybody that works
for the state, including teachers, will be affected greatly. He needs to get a
freaking clue to what he is doing. a 21,000 dollar yearly salary is about our states
average wage for a teacher. He wants to cut that down because he thinks that's too
much. Yeah... he's freaking rich. I don't see him pulling any of his own salary out
of his pocket.

So anyway... I would have walked out if it was possible for me. But seeing as I live
30 minutes by car away from the school, and I can't drive... I'd have no way of
getting home afterwords. Also I think my parents would probably kill me because the
protest could get dangerous, they wouldn't know I went, and it would require me
skipping school and then a 2 hr after school. So not exactly smart for me to be there
right now...

But yeah. I just thought it was kind of interesting how many people feel so strongly
for this. And I'm glad people in my school... let alone a high school, are willing to
stand up for their rights. Including the students. It's really amazing to me. I just
hope he listens. If he doesn't I'm sure there will be a LOT more protesting than
there is now. I already know people who want him impeached and are willing to do
anything to get it.

That might happen to us, too, according to my social studies teacher.
And we might not have school, either. So it's not just you...
And a walk-out wouldn't happen in my school, because I'm still in
middle school. A bunch of teachers might not show up though. xD
