Suzume was now having a coughing fit from the smoke as the cloud slowly engulfed
her. She finally had given away her position to the demon. It could smell her fear.
She did a running summersault to a tree that was not in the mushroom cloud yet. In
the confusion Suzume just stood there, the tree shielding her from the world. She
sheathed her sward thinking that the beast retreated, but she was wrong! When she had
sheathed her sward, it made a sliding noise. Since it was almost completely quiet and
a noise such as that could be heard from all around the dense forest.
“ Shit” She whispered to herself
She could no longer hear the monster, but she sensed that it was not far off from
her. Its long poisonous and spiked tail whipped the tree thus knocking it over almost
on top of her! Then the tail seized her across the chest, stabbing spikes into her
arms and stomach then poison seeped into her wounds from the spikes. The monsters
tail slowly lifted her off the ground, little by little. Finally she came face to
face with the demon. Then she remembered that she had something useful in her
pocket. But she needed her arm to reach it, which was at the moment had a poisonous,
spiked tail around it and her other arm. The demon looked at her and she stared into
its huge glossy eyes, with her small orb shaped eyes. She felt helpless and did not
know what to do next. Before she knew it the demon was walking, its tail holding her
up like a rag doll. Finally after at least ten minutes, the demon came to a brief
halt. Its tail lifted her up to an unusually large hole in a tree and plopped her
gently inside, by this time Suzume was too poisoned to know what was happening. But
she had a blurry view. She saw some blotches come towards her; she wondered why they
were huddling in a corner like that. But that was the least of her worries. She just
lay inside the tree to hurt, tired and poisoned to move.
