I press the bottle to my lips,
The sip stings,
Burns my throat,
Rushes into the bottom of my soul,
Filling me with ecstasy.
I want to press my lips to you,
Your neck or your brow;
I want to kiss every inch of your being,
I want to pour my love for you from my mouth,
Placing it against yours for eternity.
I want to press my hands to you,
And feel yours on me,
Trace every curve and corner of your body,
Raising goosebumps along my trail.
I want this with you and only you,
But every time you come near me,
Every time you look into my eyes,
I feel you looking into hers,
And every time you touch me,
I feel your fingers on her skin,
And every time your tongue meets mine,
I taste her on you,
And every time you speak,
I hear the words you spoke to her in secret.
The innocence of us as one is shattered,
You ripped us,
The idea of us,
Into a mess on your bedroom floor.
Humans do not belong to one another,
I know this now,
And humans are never meant for each other,
And no matter how hard we try,
How hard we want,
How hard we cry and scream and beg,
The force of nature is within us.
We are but selfish animals.
