Learners Permit ahoy!Category: (general)

I can now legally drive.
(Inside state boundaries before sunset with a licensed driver over the age of
twenty one in the front seat.)
Freedom? Yay?

Prior to taking the test I was apathetically neutral about the whole affair, but
driving is actually kind of fun, so that's cool.

Plus plus also and, I saw two of my friends there by coincidence doing the same
thing, and they both passed too! Which made it more fun. I gave them each some
victory chocolate I bought after going to the dentist.

Find out you have no cavities ---> Immediately purchase candy.
(That's how I roll.)

The friends also told me there's anime club tonight, so that'll but fun.
(I won't be driving there. I am in no way road worthy yet. Currently I am empty
parking lot worthy, and my parking is a little skewed.)

So but also anyway, I went to congratulate one of the friends via facebook, and saw
this status:

Friend: "... how come when I finally feel like getting the nerve up to talk
to you, you aren't online? Does this happen often to others who want to talk to their

I said it didn't happen to me 'cause my crush doesn't facebook much. My comment was
swifty replied to in the following manner.
Friend: "oooooo, you have a crush? Tell me all about it darling~ I wanted
to talk to you last night janet but you weren't online and i didn't think you'd
respond to texts"

At this point, being the vain creature that I am, I became concerned that the
crush mentioned in the status might be me.
But I recognized my vanity and ignored it.
Me: "My phone is actually not on silent for a change! But anyway, we can
see each other at anime club DRIVER."

To which my friend replied: "a ho ho ho yes we can fellow DRIVER. awks though cuz
the person i'm talking about will be there hee hee hee"

So there you have it. My lovely school break has today been filled with driving,
dentistry, and looming drama? Also a haircut, but that would ruin the

**Do any of you have driving stories or recent drama to share?**

I remember taking my first driving lessons. I swear, those mailboxes
were out to get me. ._.

I've yet to get my learners permit.
Meaghan still mocks me for it. .___.

Congrats, matey!
Driving is THE BEST. I am addicted to driving. Need for speed, bro.

Driving stories--me and a few others have nothing to do with cars,
but treat our bikes like royalty. Well I do, at least....
Drama--Can't remember ANYTHING, which is automatically dramatic.

Wow! I didn't realize so many of my penpals drove! You guys can give
me pointers.

Don't hug the side of the road because mailboxes. I came so close to
hitting them so many times. OTL

The scariest thing is when there's cars parked on both sides of the
road and another car coming at you. If you freak out, just stop and
pull over for a second.

Fortunately I live in a pretty rural area, so I probably
(hopefully?) won't run into that situation. (At least not until I've
been driving awhile, and have to go to a city for some reason.)

My sister nearly drove into a ditch.
Meanwhile I drove in a perfectly safe manner. By driving at 5 miles an
hour, not touching the gas, and hitting the break hard enough to give
myself whiplash. And no, this was not me trying to get a permit. I've
still not dsone that.

Congratulations (yeah, I know, I'm a little late on this, lol.)
I bet that by now you must have upgraded a level on your driving

It's funny how things are: You guys in the U.S. are allowed to drive
at 16 years old, while we at Brazil have the right to vote at this age
(which I'll take advantage of, because I really think that's an
important process, contrary to lots of other teenagers around here who
lost their faith on elections because of high corruption levels.)

Tell us more about the crush thing ~
Kirti says:   8 April 2012   562337
I'm actually having trouble finding time to practice driving, so I'm
still not ready for highways.

Really? Wow. We can vote at eighteen, but when I'm eighteen it won't
be an election year, so I actually won't be eligible until I'm twenty.
(At least I'll have plenty of time to become educated on the
process... This I tell myself to mask my woeful frustration.)
What age is okay for driving in Brazil?
‹Panda  Bear› says:   11 April 2012   768726
We're allowed to drive at 18 years old. (It's funny how you can vote
with 16 but can't drive. The irony.)
Kirti says :   20 May 2012   632949
It makes sense, to me at least. Driving is mostly a matter of our own
lives, where as voting effects a lot of people. Besides, permitted
drivers are still very regulated, and we can't get a full license
until we're eighteen.
