Kirti's Guide to Cross Country EtCategory: (general)

I've been learning the hard way that there are some unwritten rules to being on a
girls cross country team. If anyone reading this plans to join one, maybe they'd like
to know.

1. I don't care if you have uniforms and they haven't come in yet. There is a
dresscode that you must follow. Failure to adhere to said dresscode will get
you weird looks. You must wear shorts. You might as well set fire to your pants for
all you get to wear them. Body concious? Doesn't matter. You will wear non-denime
shorts or suuuufer. Also, no matter how short it is, your hair must be in a pony
tail. If it's so short that bits hang out, get a solid colored elastic headband. Your
shirt must be a short sleeved tee shirt. Like all rules, this applies in all weather.
You at practice= you in tee shirt. Said tee shirt must be loose, baggy, and
comfortable looking. It doesn't matter if it's actually comfortable. Looking as if
you can run in it is as important as actually being able to. If your shirt isn't at
least two sizes too large, you've done something wrong. Also, your shirt should be
one of your school colors, or else. Unles one of those colors is white or silver, in
which case a light grey shirt is passable.

2. It is not proper to greet someone who you begin running next to by chance. It is
not proper to greet someone who is a ways behind you. And acceptable greeting as you
pass someone is "Good job". This is said to encourage the person who is not doing a
good job.

Off to camp, more later!
