1. So that the Aunts would formally adopt him

2. So that the Aunts at least wouldn't turn him out to the streets when he became a
legal adult.

3. He's worried about their welfare

4. He heard them leave, and feels like if they get hurt then it's his fault for not
stopping them.

5. He's in love with Shiki.

6. The Aunts tricked him into doing it.

7. He dreamt he killed Mana, and got freaked when he woke up and they weren't
there.

8. Because it seemed fun.

9. To start a career as a Private Investigator.

10. For nature shots.

11. Simply to ruin Mana's good time.

12. He got the strangest feeling that he should.

13. To move the story along a bit.
