Kayso, my friend's mom and nonna came to my grandma's visitation/wake/whatever you
want to call it, and this resulted in a quite humorous case of mistaken identity.
Well, humorous for them, I guess. Embarassing and disgusting for me.
Nah, it was funny for me, too.
I'm the type of person that can't go up to the casket by myself, and so I was in
the middle of asking my older cousin (he's almost thwenty-three) if he would go with
me and all of a sudden a started bawling like a baby, and obviously, being a good
cousin and all, he wrapped his arms around me and just let me cry for (at least what
felt like) a really long time. After that we went up together and he just wrapped
his arm around my shoulders and we sat there next to Grandma and it was really nice
because it was just the three of us, you know? Most people don't really understand
the way I am with death and stuff - I'm sort of a don't ask, don't tell person and I
don't generally like to be held or comforted or whatnot - but he is the same way so
it just sorta worked out. I guess he's kind of like the big brother I never had.
Let me stress that part. Big brother I never had. Ya got that?
I really hope so, cause apparently my friends mom and Nonna didn't.
Nonna was like to my mom, "Ooh, is that her boyfriend? They look really close."
(<---- Paraphrased, cause what she actually said was disgusting, LMAO)
Then my friend's mom said, "Oh, no, Mom, that's her cousin Patrick." You wanna
know why she knows this? Cause my mom and aunts all freaking LOVE Patrick and love
to talk about him to other people because apparently he looks like Taylor Lautner.
Apparently he also looks like my boyfriend.
I'm debating whether or not I should tell him this story, or if it will scar him
for life the way it scarred me.
